I did an embarrassing toilet related money saving thing tonght
Had a wee (as you do...) then did a quick wipe, FOLDED the loo roll in half and mopped up a few spills of WATER off the floor with it  and I did it without thinking really but my next thought was how it was an embarrassing money saving thing lol.
Good job you don't know me:rotfl:
1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70

:happyloveI wear old jogging bottoms and jumpers to bed in the winter (and wrap up on the sofa in a throw) as I turn the heating off at 8.30 pm just before the kids go to bed.
:j I have never owned a tumble dryer but my previous was a washer dryer (and I only used the dryer once during the 10 years I had it). I saved buckets over the years and I still do, as I hang jumpers, shirts, skirts on hangers and hang them of doorways during the day to dry (and move them to picture rails in the evening). Smalls are hung over radiators (with the little wire things that allow you to hang extra). When dry you spend alot less time ironing out the creases, which also saves electricity.0 -
one think I never do is buy j cloths - I tear old towels down into strips and use these for mopping the loo (not the bath or basin though - I have a bathroom sponge for them because there's a scourer side so it cleans without detergent when I just want to do a quick wipe over;)) and the odd spill on the kitchen floor - but these go into the hot towel wash I do once a week so there's always a clean one in the bathroom.
The hot towel wash I do doubles as the hot wash needed to keep the washer gunge-free;)
I give a lot less to the charity shop these days as I give most things a go on e bay first
I do a quick once over in the trolley parks at the supermarket because sometimes people leave £1 or a trolley token in there - unfortunately usually trolley tokens - nevertheless I have given them away to friends when necessary. It was brilliant when my supermarket first changed over to £1 trolleys - most people weren't used to it and I got quite a few quid out of it.
I bring loo roll tubes home from work for the gerbils to munch (we have 5 in 2 cages) and the cage waste goes into the compost bin. If there's a bit of tissue left on (and I mean a bit, honestly), they drag it to their bed.
I also collect fruit peelings from work and bring them home to add to the compost bin - usually banana skin. My soil is very poor so it's all needed!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

What about backwash?_pale_0 -

They're not always just abandoned... I lost my trolley token that I'd had since 2008 a couple of weeks ago as I hadn't realised I'd lost my card and had to abandon my trolley in Aldi£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
I am now washing less of my own clothes. If I wear, say, a knitted top for work, I put it on a hanger on my bedroom curtain rail, while the window is open, and leave it a day or so. Then it freshens so nicely, there is no need to wash it. It smells just like a line-dried top. I then wear it without any qualms. The best way to judge is literally by smelling certain areas, and then make my choice whether it actually needs washing. Seldom do I spill anything down my clothes. Also the clothes last longer, as washing tends to make them look a bit tired after a while.
I do the same with my children's clothes, as they just get heaped on the bedroom floor, so if they smell ok, I shake, fold and pack away.:Tkeep smiling,

Why not just use a tupperware instead? (or even better a washed out take-away plastic box)0 -

Well these are all parked up trolleys...
and I'm spreading the joy - I do give tokens awayDon't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

chinagirl - i do the same. I used to wash clothes after each and every wearing, but not so now. I do the same smell test and if it doesn't smell bad, then it gets hung back in the wardrobe!0

Oh I do loads of things!
Every tea bag gets used at least 3 times.
I add water to the whole milk carton when it gets down to a 1/4 and turn it into semi.
Anyone in the shower gets shouted out after 5 minutes, and the toilet only gets flushed every other time (unless it's a no.2 lol) - this is due to being on a water meter.
I once ran out of cotton pads and used pantyliners to remove my nail polish... worked a treat. :rotfl:Stone walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage.0
