Rushed there this morning to check it out after seeing the dresses in the paper! The sizing is pants! Nothing fits well.

I am a standard size 12 , sometimes go down to an 8 in trousers because they make the waists and hips so big these days

There was no way I could get on the slimming top that goes with the advertised dress. The dress was ok on without the topbut a bit clingy on the bum and very long . I am 5 4 and it was too long for me.

I recently got a M&S magic body thing cheap in the sale becasue the reviews online said people could not get them on but I can manage fine -in fact they are selling the bodies stacks of them in the M&S outlet now as they obviously did not fit people-so if I can't get this top thing on who will!!

Jodphur Trousers too long and too big -needed an 8

The black slash dress went on ok but too longfor a standard person.

The staff tried to persuade me it was all lovely but apparently not one of them has even tried it on so they have no idea how it fits. The marketing people took them to meet Gok Wan !!!-how much did that cost -but didn't tell them how to get the dresses on-most women could not even get the slimming top on!

Typical marketing hype with no thought process.

If someone like me a size 12 5ft 4 an average person no extra big hips/bust etc who was super motivated and ran to the shop at 9am with money in hand and tried deperately to buy something cant find anything then who will!!

A 20 something assistant telling me no she met Gok Wan and he told her they will fit but no she ain't tried it !!

What a big waste of money -we end up paying in the end!!

Sorry but its not really his fault that it didn't fit you, There is no such thing as a standard size. In Dorothy Perkins I am a size 6 in River island I am a size 10, Sometimes its the design of the clothes that they are not for people with bigger boobs or smaller boobs etc

It would be helpful if there was a fitting room to try stuff on!!
I got the black wrap dress and the red shift, my store didn't have the slash neck dress :(
I agree on the control underwear, I stuggled to get the one for the wrap dress on as it is SO tight but once on it looks fabulous! However I don't look forward to getting it off again after a few drinks! My main issue is with the big shoulder pads in both dresses, as a lady with a big bust and wide shoulders I don't need them and will take them out, but why weren't they made with removable shoulder pads?

But there is a standard sized 12 !!! It is laid down and I am it the fact is that now the clothing industry ignores it because people have fatter waists and hips

How did you get into the top -over your head or up the way?

I got into the slimming top "up the way" by stepping into it!!
Tried it over my head first but just ended up in a big tangle!!

SS if i'm just being a little bit dense, but are slimming tops not supposed to be tight? I know you said you could not get it on, but surely the tighter it fits the slimmer you'll look making it better?

I think you're right but getting it off is helpful too. I bought the M&S body thing and got it on fine but getting it off was a nightmare. I thought I was going to have to sleep in it or cut it off! After an extended struggle I did eventually get it off but haven't worn it since.

Why not ignore the sizes and buy clothes that fit ? Does it matter what the labels say ?
