    Well done x

    Thank you!! :D

Have spent the morning going through mortgage calculators, salary calculators and budgets! :o

Obviously, all of my working out on this is reliant upon no major issues raising their ugly heads, but I am going with the idea that they won't!!;)

There are two main scenarios - the job becoming permanent or staying fixed term.....if it remains fixed term, by the time I finish the job, I am looking at having my mortgage down to around 18k - if it becomes permanent, I may be able to finish my mortgage by the end of the MFiT-T3 challenge in Dec 15!!!!:j:j:j

Either way, I am an extremely happy person at this moment in time!!!:D

My enthusiasm for the challenge has been totally renewed....I am going to throw everything I can at it now, I have been doing pretty well but have never really gone all out on it because even three years or so has seemed like a long time to be really strict. However, now that I know that I have an opportunity to make such a massive difference over the next 10 months (and hopefully a life-changing difference if I can go for the full 18 months) it seems tantalisingly within my sights and totally worth any sacrifice I have to make!! :D

Look out mortgage - I will destroy you!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Thanks Peonie :D

Dd gave me her rent money yesterday, so another £50 paid off today!!:j

Dh came home late last night after being away for a few days with work....couldn't curb my enthusiasm and started to talk about my mortgage plans :o Think the vast majority of it just went totally over his incredibly tired head and the 'glazed' look took over his face!!:rotfl: Never mind, once he manages to catch up on some sleep and feels human again, I am sure that he will be as enthusiastic as I am!! ;)

Going to do meal plans today - also hoping to get some washing on the line as for the first time in several days, there appears to be a shiny thing in the sky!:j

    Happy Friday!! :D

    Thanks Tahlullah :D

Unfortunately, after having a meeting with my boss, it looks like the full time hours may potentially only be for a few months depending what happens with some external contracts :( I probably won't know until the autumn what is going to happen, but I am still hopeful that it will turn into a longer term thing and grateful to have even a few months of additional mortgage busting power ahead of me!! ;) I will make the most of what time I have and just see how it all turns out....

This week has been a nightmare financially, I have had a friend over for a couple of days, family over for the past three days and dh's birthday which turned out to be very expensive due to the additional bodies!!:o

I need to sit down and work out how much I have spent and how much I have left to play with for the rest of the month but am back on the wagon now and will ensure that I stay that way in the future.... not looking forward to seeing the figures though!!

On the plus side, I have plenty of food in for the rest of this week and probably enough for next week too apart from fresh fruit/veg and milk - it will mean a few interesting meals ahead, but I can deal with that!!:rotfl:

I put my MFit-T3 figures in today.....hoping that I will at least be in amber when the charts come out ;)

    Happy Thursday!:D

  • Lovely slobby day yesterday recovering from all the visitors and another few ahead of me too!! :D

Paid another £30 off the mortgage this morning...discovered some cash in an old savings account that I had so have put it to good use!! ;)

Have done the totting up of the expenditure over the past week....spent £125 from the grocery budget and £140 on the credit card!!:eek: Ridiculous amounts of cash, but have got enough food for the week other than the fresh stuff and will pay off the credit card in full at the end of the month.

Some of the grocery money has been spent on total extravagances.....two loads of parmesan, a slab of pecorino, four camembert and some very expensive coffee....but I think that I needed the blow out and in the big scheme of things, it's really not that bad...plus, the parmesan and pecorino will probably last for a couple of months! ;) The credit card money was spent on lunch and entertainment for five people on dh's birthday, so again, not a massive amount really - more cash than I would have liked to have spent but it's only once a year! :D

Right, off to make a meal plan for the week....hopefully, I will be able to keep the food bill next week under £25 so that I get the grocery budget back on track! ;)

  • beautiful day here!! :D

Have had a lovely weekend so far....put on three lots of wine yesterday; cranberry and papaya, fig and apricot plus a 7 day, 5 gallon red wine kit!! ;)

Ate my first home-grown strawberry this morning and it was lush!!:j I have had to move them to the greenhouse though as either the pheasants or the squirrels (or perhaps any other of the myriad of creatures who now think they own my garden and everything in it!!) have decided to take a fancy to them!!

Not a very money saving day yesterday though....went out to get a few things and ended up with much more than expected!! :o However, all of it was needed so not a major issue...paid for most of it out of the grocery budget so have bowed out of the challenge for this month as I really can't remember the figures...

I am doing well using up food already in the house, had camembert for dinner yesterday with salads and am having roast chicken with home-grown new potatoes and the asparagus and green beans left in the fridge for dinner tonight...nomnom!!:D

    Happy sunday!!:D
