    Hi,anders2011

You ideally need to post this on the main board :-)
  • Thought I would give it a go, as it seems quite a lot of people on here have been lucky enough to win cash and prizes! I was just wandering if anyone had a tips or tricks they would like to share. I haven't won anything in my life so would be great if I did!

    Thanks :)

My advice is to enter competitions in your local newspaper, especially if they are free! the chances are not many people will enter so you stand a greater chance of winning :)

Posting is a privilege, not a right. This is a privately-owned site. Posting is a privilege, not a right. No one pays to use this site; when there are issues, we pay to resolve them. Sometimes we need to prioritise spending money on the site, other issues or better resources.
Please be nice to all MoneySavers. That’s the forum motto. Remember, the prime aim is to help provide info and resources. If you don’t like someone, their situation, their question or feel they’re intruding on ‘your board’ then please bite the bullet and think of the bigger issue. A Guardian article once "doffed its cap" to this forum as being the one place where consumers can collect together and fight back. Our job is to help keep it that way.

    Hello all,
just wondering if someone could help me- i have noticed on a few posters stats thing that comes up on the left of thier post that they have been thanked in more posts than they have actually posted (eg 'posts 3000, thanked 6000 times in 3050 posts'. i've been scratching my head trying to work out how that could be and i just can't work it out! but then again i'm not very clever. if someone could tell me, i would appreciate it very much- it's not importnant but it's really annoying me now!!!

    thanks in advance, theegg :D

Missed this topic earlier, but as I am one of those who has more thanked posts than I appear to have actually made I can explain. At the time of posting this, I had 9138 posts of which 9236 had been thanked. If a post is deleted after being thanked then only the first figure is reduced.

Some of the deletions were because I chose to delete a post, but many others are because I posted (and was thanked) in a thread that was deleted by MSE due to rule breaches such as self promotion - and my post could have been pointing this out or warning other compers. Some of these get deleted without anybody thanking my post so I would estimate that I have actually made about 9438 posts, of which 9236 have been thanked, and 300 have been deleted - leaving 9138 still existing in various parts of the forum.
