  • Hi,
I've just noticed that the very useful sort thread buttons no longer appear in the heading on the competition forum page.
I had just got used to the End Date order button and now it doesn't seem to be there anymore.
Have I missed a notification about this?

sorry for bringing this up again but PLEASE can we compromise and stop posting to ops that they should be doing it a different way for weekly comps?

as far as i know its up to op how they post weeklies therefore nothing wrong with it being done as one thread to be bumped with new answer each week if that is how the op chooses to post it. also nothing wrong with it being posted as a new thread every week if that is how the op chooses to do it.

Perhaps as there are not yet any guidelines to follow, nor likely to be since no matter what guidelines are written they will be ignored by some and yelled about by others...and no one rule will satisfy everyone could we compromise by NOT telling an op they did it wrong no matter which way they choose to post and just accept that some will be posted as a new thread each week for those who dont want to to check weekly thread, while others will be posted as ongoing and linked in weekly thread. surely everyone is adult enough to compromise thus?

if there is an overall end date it still goes on main either way, so those of you who dont like regs board and dont want to go there at all ever dont have to and wont miss out by the comp being hidden there.

Totally agree with these sentiments, I thought it was down to the OP on such comps. In fact, this was reitereated in recent discussions.
But could I also add a plea that comps posted on main aren't then merged into those in regs?
I posted one a rew weeks ago that was impossible to dupe as the Facebook page recognised you'd already entered, so wouldn't even allow you to try.
    It was merged.

The following week I linked directly with the comp in regs rather than the comp itseslf and asked that it not be merged.
I person expressed their dislike. Several others posted in support.
    It was merged.

I asked Glad for it to be unmerged, but she was unable to as she didn't merge it.
There was some mention of it being "Ongoing," but as the comp has stopped & restarted, it couldn't strictly be classified thus.

I haven't posted it again and the updated post in regs has received just 55 likes this week, (It closes tonight.) The first one I had merged received 356 before it was merged. That's a lot of MSEers missing out! I thought this board was about sharing comps with as many folk as possible....

Wondering whether to try again this week...

ETA - Even tho' I usually found the comp via my own bookmarks & searched for the answer myself, I still asked AmILucky? who was updating the regs thread whether he'd like to post it, out of courtesy. He was more than happy for me to pop it onto the main board.

Sorry if out of context with current discussion but..........
Hi I have just given in and joinned facebook - I have done it under a psuedo name as i do not want to be identified, on entering a comp I was asked my details which I gave my true name to - will this be kept off the site does anyone know - I was unsure whether to use a psuedo name thinking if I won cash (heres hoping) would a cheque be written in this name, but as my address is not there pressumably they would need to email to confirm details. can anyone help.
By the way I do not have anything to hide or a stalker I just dont want anyone I have ever walked past in a supermarket knowing my business iykwim I dislike the concept of facebook but keep seeing such great prizes I have finally relented

GB, do you know who is merging them? After seeing this, i went looking for it, and if its the comp i think it is, fizzyhelen has posted it on the main board this morning, but someone has actually added an email comp to that thread as well which i can see even people who use the regular board could miss (is it even the same comp?)

I hate the weekly board, and seeing all this makes me hate it even more - goodness knows how many comps we all miss when its all so confusing.

If everyone dislikes the weeklies, would you like me to stop doing them?

I find the new rules(?) confusing as well, and just add comps that I am sent.

Not sure if this should go on the main board or in the postals thread?

    http://www.dubble.co.uk/wimpykid

You have to design a cartoon character - draw it on their entry form & post it to them. Closing date is 9th December and the prize is a Wimpy Kid book & dvd & bundle of chocolate.

If anyone can work out where it should go then please do post it in the relevant place :D
