How the hell can Orange do this?

The data usage argument is fairly pointless... 500Mb is very little if you use the phone to check emails, fb, twitter, news, weather, lots of apps etc and dont have wifi access at home or work. If however you DO have wifi at home and work then, as others have said, 500Mb will probably be plenty, especially if you dont use the internet on the phone too much. Just make sure you download a data monitoring app, preferably one which automatically disables mobile data when you reach your allowance. This will give a good idea of how much data you use and will prevent potentially massive bills from out of allowance data use.0

Any pointers on what to say in order to get a micro sim out of orange without paying the additional £10 p/m?
Any help would really be appreciated!0 -
Just cut the sim down yourself. Much less complicated.
Google it out search on YouTube ... Lots of guides out there.0 -

Go into your nearest CPW pay £15 which they charge one off for the micro sim and transfer your number over. (they may/should even phone up and get this done for you)You have to start to finish.

Got through to Orange exec department and they authorised a MicroSim being sent out free of charge without the £10 data charge extra a month.
A little bit of arguing and a loyal Orange customer get's their way. It was unfair from the beginning so it only made sense.
You're lucky. The business rule is that unless you have an iPhone tariff, you have to pay £10 a month for an iPhone data package, that gives an additional 1GB data, unlimited BT Openzone and ensures your call goes through to the iPhone department.
Bark and hollar all you like to the exec office, you must have caught someone on a good day. Normally they won't budge and I've let people leave the network before because they won't take the bundle. And before you say it, it's not my stubborness, it's because we've been told they HAVE to have the bundle, no if's-but's-or-maybe's. And I'm in management!I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
See I've been told that they can't force a £10 a month bundle on people, and that they have to send out a micro sim on request, the extra £10 a month is completely unjustifiable, iPhone data is no more expensive and it goes down the same route as any other data0

It was designed originally to deter bill shock data-wise. Orange are under no obligation to send a micro sim out to sim-free iPhone users, but they do.
As it stands, from today the mandatory data bundle was made into an optional one, so good news all round!I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Despite 3 phone calls to Orange, made over the past 7 working days, they are still insisting on this £10 additional fee.
Does anyone have any tips on how to get them to simply send out a microSIM out for your current/non-iPhone tariff?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Don't bother with trying to get them to send a micro sim, just buy a sim cutter from eBay0
