Yep - I agree, but my stress levels couldn't cope.
I am, however, having the phone locked via the IMEI number - because she has confirmed that she hasn't got that phone hasn't she!0 -
Can you post the user's ID so people can block them from bidding?!0

Personally I think you're crackers!! But hope your idea works and she can't use the phone!! But saying that you can change the IMEI numbers now, making the phone usable again.:j30/7/10:j

When she returns your SONY ERICSSON W300i suggest you leave the package unopened and have your son make an appointment with CID at your local police station. Ask them to open the item in your (or better yet your son's) presence so you can confirm that it's been switched with a used one - this is a well-known con from buyers that use PayPal. Fortunately, there are laws against this - these con artists are usually charged with "obtaining goods by deception". You should pursue the matter otherwise more people will fall victim to these scammers.
The CID detectives can process the handset for the buyer's fingerprints (which is why you shouldn't open it yourself)."Money is truthful. If a person speaks of their honour, make sure they pay in cash."0 -
She refunded before the item was sent back. The buyer will not send the item back now.0

let me get this right have you sent the refund before you got your phone / a phoneb back from them ??0

I would never refund anyone before I have received the item back and inspected it! I would have got the police involved too, but it seems there is nothing much you can do now you have actually refunded without receiving back the item, it might never get sent back:heartpuls Miss Cheivous :heartpuls:A Boots Tart in Training :ABoots AC points - £28.210

And its highly illegal, its fraudulent to change the registered details of a phone and if you're caught with a phone/equiptment, you're looking at prison... well, not in the current prison shambles....~*Cerenia*~

Hi all
Thought I'd update you all. I got the phone back - not the IMEI number of the phone on my receipt, but the phone returned looks immaculate.
Anyway - my son and I discussed what could possibly have happened and worked out the only place the phone was out of our sight before sending was the shop where we had it unlocked. After visiting the shop and checking it appears that it has been swapped (so I wasn't being scammed by this ebayer). There is a young lady in my town with my phone and I have her phone. Both phones were brand new, although she had sent half a dozen texts on hers before it was unlocked and I hadn't touched mine.
What comeback have I got - it appears none. I've met up with the young lady in question and we could swap phones - but to be honest the one she has now is well used and pesonalised (teenagers!) and the one I have still looks like new in my opinion. The shop is not interested at all and says I should have checked on collection and it's now between myself and the other young lady.
At the end of the day I am just going to sell this phone on ebay as a hardly used phone.
But....I feel a whole lot better about this whole episode now.
In future if I ever get a phone unlocked I will check the IMEI number before I leave it with the shop and when I collect it.0
