Ask the buyer to send some pics of the phone and then you can see if it's the one you have sent them, don't usually upgrade phones come in blister packs.

    Hi

I've probably confused people here. I changed contracts rather than upgraded. I was with 3 and moved to Orange. So the phone I received was in a sealed retail box rather than a blister pack. Although to be honest the only other time I upgraded I really did just upgrade the phone and retain the same contract the new phone ws sent out in a sealed retail box

    Hi

she has come back to me and the IMEI number doesn't match the one on my receipt What do I do now?

If the IMEI number doesn't match the phone you sent, it's obviously not the same phone. I fail to see how she has a claim as it's clearly a different phone.

Although this is eBay and paypal we're talking about.

Have you told here that the IMEI doesn't match? What was her response?

Wow, you are splashing your cash around.

    Over £1k on a camera.

Are you getting married soon? if yes, congratulations and good luck.

    I've been married 27 years:rotfl:

Yes new camera...but....if you look at my recent sales I sold another DSLR kit for about £1,500 to cover the cost. Just changing from one make to another

Oh flip...I am slow tonight. The wedding dress purchases:rotfl:They are for my daughter to model in. Wish I were that slim!

I am nosy but not so nosy that I trawled through everything.:D

I only looked at the last few purchases so I didn’t see the camera sale. I just saw the camera purchase and a wedding dress and thought you might be about to get married.;)

You must be into serious photography if that is the level of your equipment. I owned an Olypmus OM2 back in the days of film but all I have now is a basic APF film camera and a very cheap digital.

That's okay...I tend to look see what other's have been buying selling if I'm trading with them (mostly when selling hi value items to judge whether they can be considered trustworthy).

    But anyway...thanks for the congratulations:T

I'm sure you will all think I am mad, but after hearing nothing for a few days I got a further ebay message from this buyer asking me I was going to resolve this issue. I responded by asking what they would like to see happen. The upshot is they wanted a full refund and they would send the phone back.

So - because I can't be bothered with the hassle I have done just that and filed a mutual agreement not to proceed to obtain a refund of my FVF.

I think I will get back a phone which is not the phone I sent but will definitely steer clear of items like this in the future.

So now I am down one new walkman phone - but have an old used one.

Thanks for all the advice anyway.

I don't think you did the right thing, it is the principle. If you for sure the phone is different then you should not refund. I mean all it means is that this person has won and theres nothing to stop then doing this again to another ebayer.
  • Why the hell did u agree to that?.. this person is conning you!!

They will jst go out again and try this nasty trick again!
