Thanks Taxi. I went to see the asthma nurse last friday and she said I had to be very strict about taking my preventor as well as my inhaler. So I've been very good and doing it religiously. I did have a scary episode the first Sunday we broke up from school and she said if that happens again either get straight to the Docs or an ambulance!!! Now that was scary when she said that. I think if it doesn't get any better I will see the Doctor and see if she recommends it. I know if I go though I'll just get put on sick leave and I hate being off work with it. It's like it controls you and everything you do. It's a funny thing that I never had asthma as a child. Got it about 6 or 7 years ago. It does run in the family though on Mums side. All our children when little had asthma in varying degrees but two don't at all now and only DD uses an inhaler occasionally but she is prone to chest infections like me. I'll look after myself, don't worry :)
As for the printer still no wiser...going to pick youngest DS up from work, he's got a little weekend job in Wetherspoons whilst at college and there's an Argos nearby so may pop in and have a mooch there.
    Catch you laters.

As long as you keep on top of it ...thats the main thing.
Don't know anything about printers myself either so good luck with that.

Can't believe it's nearly a month since I last updated. Still plodding on. This weekend DD is away in Liverpool doing some Christmas shopping (her friends family live there) so while she's away we are swapping around the bedrooms, which she knows about, but as a surprise OH is putting down a laminate floor for her. She had one in her 'bigger bedroom' but as she is moving into the smaller one so the boys can have the largest, they had a carpet down, which she was having a bit of a whinge about. But things not so straight forward. The boys double wardrobe won't fit throught the door so OH is having to dismantle it before he can even start! Bless him. Hope he can get it all done before she gets back.
Not been too bad on the money front but still having the odd naughty and non essential spend.
I have been very tired lately too and not very motivated. Haven't done much crochet or craft stuff either.
Just doing a little decluttering as and when though I find it very hard. I'm ok if it's a definate charity item or a recycling one but it's those inbetweeny ones that don't seem to be either, live in a drawer, never see the light of day and yet I still can't get rid of.
Talking of clutter, I have bought, of all things, a doughnut maker, something else to gather dust once the novelty has worn off.
Just followed the recipe in the leaflet, added 1/4 cup of applesauce as a sustitute for the egg and lo and behold they were really nice.
Very tiny though. Will be something different I suppose to make with our GD when she visits and hopefully she'll enjoy decorating them with icing etc.
Don't plan to do too much today though will have to help OH at some point once the floor is down.
Going to make some mulled wine later and have a bag of chestnuts in the cupboard which need popping in the oven, so quite looking forward to that.
    Hope everyone is keeping warm.

An update...poor OH has also got to take the beds down and DD wardrobe too!!!! Think I'm going to be pouring coffee down him for the next few hours (not literally of course) Why is everything so complicated!!!??

too complicated ..i'd have given up by now..lol...have you been to drs about tiredness
  • Hiya Taxi, hope you're okay huni. I think I'm tired because I should go to bed earlier than I do, so I just put it down to that. Will start having some earlier nights and see if that makes a difference.
OH is halfway through laying the floor with DS helping though DS wants a lift to his girlfriends about half an hour ago...keeping him here for as long as we can. Much quicker with two doing it. He has also gone through some stuff from his room (with me holding it up and him saying yay or nay) and we've managed to fill 3 bin liners up to now.
Haven't started on my mulled wine yet or the chestnuts...:(
Never mind I'd much rather get as much in the rooms done as possible.
Popped to Dunelm and it cost more for DDs new bedding and curtains than the floor!!!
Better get back, popped on here to go on Amazon really...I'm easily distracted :)

  • bedroom moving and floor laying your poor OH! Are you sure its just lack of sleep Dizzie? I would see Doctors if no better in a week. Ref decluttering anything better than nothing. One thing I did with DD2 when she couldnt decide was narrow things down by putting two items together and chosing the favorite to keep. This was with the teddy mountain but might work with general clutter/sentimental stuff.

Donut maker sounds yummy but having seen some photos of me recently I need to run away from anything like that!

  • Hi KP. I'm sure it's more to do with lack of sleep why I'm tired. Hope so anyway. As I said I'm going to have some early nights and eat a bit more fruit and veg. As a vegan my diet has been quite poor recently. Just grabbing quick meals etc and lots of cups of tea! Not very healthy at all.
Poor OH indeed. He has also had to take the door off to be able to laminate under it. The door opens inwards. I've no doubt he'll have to plane the bottom of the door before it will close as well. He's at least reached the door so fingers crossed...
Unfortunately the boys beds are still dismantled and there is a mountain of stuff on our bed!!!!!!!!!
I will be soooooo glad when this is finished.
I'm pottering about down here inbetween popping on here, watching QI and emptying the dryer and washer.
I think we're not too bad now with the decluttering of the room. A lot of it was text/school books and for some reason lots of electrical stuff like wires and plugs. Me...what's this? Him...that's off the xbox. Me...what's this? Him...that's off the sony. Me...what's this? Him...bin it. You get the picture. DS is into his rock (great taste in music takes after me) and plays guitar so he has his guitars and a great big amp in there as well! Have thought about a loft conversion but I don't know if I could stand all the mess as well as the financial side of it.
To be honest it seems as soon as I create some space here, it gets filled again just as quickly.
The donut maker is now sitting on my shelf. Will be interesting to see when I next get it down :)
Regarding my asthma I have been taking my preventor every morning and evening as I should and touch wood I haven't had to use my inhaler during the day for over a week now, so that's really good, especially when it's cold like this my asthma is usually terrible.
    Keep warm everyone :)
