How I did it last night.
Put some broccolli and cauli on to simmer for five to ten minutes.
While that's cooking, gently fry some mushrooms in butter, then when they are cooked put half a tub of fresh cream in the pan, give it a stir then add the cauli and broccolli.
Pour into 2 heatproof dishes, then sprinkle a very generous amount of cheese on top, then grill till it's all bubly and brown on top.
It was very tasty but I think some red pepper would have improved it, or onion.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Cook/steam the cauliflower and other veggies. Add sauce. Chuck breadcrumbs and some extra strong cheese on the top. That's a meal.
If you have to add something more (and I had a huge shock the first time I was informed that a whole cauliflower, a whole head of broccoli, cheese, peas, carrots, green beans and a breadcrumb topping was the equivalent of a spring of parsley on a lump of cow), I would suggest some bacon bits grilled until crispy.
Goes really well with well salted chips, though
Cauli cheese AND meat AND yorkshires AND potatoes AND more veg AND stuffing AND everything else: And they wonder why people are so flaming fat these days.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
I put pasta in it, or new potatoes.Debt free as of July 2010 :j

My wife would only ever give it to me once for a main...its meant for a side for chicken,,,
I am a really really fussy eater...god help if we have no apple sauce or mint or horseradish ect ect
what i really hate is to see the same colours on a plate...like all whiteIt is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
You could use milk instead of cream, I just had some to use up.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

We have it with sausages too, but when I first suggested it O/H thought it sounded ridiculous! I love cauliflower cheese and will eat it anytime“I tell you, we are here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.”

Hot buttered toast, sounds bizarre but my Grandad loved it so i humoured him and tried some and it's yummy! Grandad's not here anymore but the toast and cauliflower cheese lives on nom nom nom. Even better if the toast is from a sliced crusty loaf and there is a few burnt bits!0
