If you have cauliflower cheese as a main meal .....?

Options
Now, being brought up in a very carnivorous yorkshire family, I always viewed cauliflower cheese as an accompaniment to a "roast dinner".

However, as we are trying to reduce our food spend, and increase the proportion of veg we eat, when we formulated this weeks menu, I bravely said we would have Cauliflower cheese for tonights dinner.

Now I thought I'll make it the usual way, perhaps with just a hint of pancetta in the sauce. But will that fill 3 of us up? What do you have with it ??
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

I have it with steamed carrots and broccoli, and sometimes in the winter when I want comfort food I might have a baked potato with it :).

Add a bit more than a hint of pancetta, perhaps add some small tomatoes or cut to cherry tom size, I'd have it with some steamed minted salted new pots or roast pots and summat green such as peas, beans or broccoli. English mustard in the cheese sauce can add a lot of flavour.

We have it as a side to steak or with salads...but not lettuce based salads. I'd normally have a beetroot salad, or roast beetroot, and something like a marinated cucumber salad and/or a tomato and parsley salad or sliced and seasoned beef tomato. :)
  • Cauliflower cheese and sausages in our family lovely :p
