  • I am feeling on top of the world today... yesterday my boss called me in his office, he said the managers had had a whip round and if i didn't like what they had bought me they could get me something else.... i opened the card and £110 fell out! I could have cried apparently he had spoken to my work mate who knows money is tight for me, but doesn't know why..

..but i was a bit naughty i stopped off on my way home and bought a top i've had my eye on... still it was half price so I have a new top for tonight party, Xmas eve and NEw year (i'm spending each with differnt people) and I have £95 to put in the debt pot

This week should be quiet, i've a party tonight that I have budgeted for, my friend is coming over monday for a cuppa, tuesday is a night in, wednesday and thursday I'm doing present drop offs so tea, heating and lighting at someone elses house for the evening!!! and then Friday i'm travelling down to my parents until wednesday....so possibly 5 NSDs :rotfl: thanks mum!

I feel so positive today I really wasn't expecting that money. I'm off to have sunbed now using minutes I have left from when I wasn't MSE (so its free Kinda!) apparently there is loads of food at the party so I wont have lunch today and save myself!!! :rotfl:i will have to go food shopping however..going to get some lasgne ingredients and soups for my lunches
  • Ok this month is a long one and I need to make my money stretch so I thought I’d buy my food shopping this month at A**i. I have to have 30 meals and 30 lunches this month,

I already have in the cupboards 16 dinners and 12 soups so I thought I’d buy:
    Steak Mince x 2
    Chopped toms x2
    Tomato Puree
    Lasagne sauce x2
    Chunky veg Bolog sauce x2
    Pasta Sheets
    Bacon
    cheese
    Southern Fried Chicken burgers
    More cheese (love cheese)
    Cat food for a month
10 more soups (I love soup!)
    Pasta Bake x2
    Muffins for breakfast
Cat food for the entire month
Cat Treats for the entire month (10 chew sticks for 99p which I break up in to smaller chunks and put in a treat jar)
    Washing up liquid
    Fabric Conditioner
    Pickled onions (love em)

And it came to £35!!! I couldn’t believe it! So I will let you know how it all tastes! The steak mince was British and the pickled onions brand so I was really chuffed its left me with £15 for the rest of the month (told you January was tight!) to get salad and fresh veg with and I reckon I have more than enough meals for January and the cat loves the food £2.35 for the mid-range 12 pouches the £3 I saved I bought her treats with which is normally another couple of quid on top. This month I do have enough cat litter to get me through as I bulk bought so I guess that would have to be added on next month but my budget is bigger for February I’m going to try a meal planner this month.

    PAYDAY YAY!
Tomorrow is pay day so I have my calculations what to keep in the bills account, what to transfer to the spending and what’s going into the savings! Yes savings I FOBB now has an official savings account! Ok so most of it is putting away to pay the car MOT or the Buildings insurance or something BUT! It’s there! And it’s actually happening and it won’t be another month of “oh god the tv licence is due…that’s all my money gone for the month”!! my mum would be proud!!! LOL.

I’m also owed £47 from friends that I have lent money to before being MSE so I think it’s time that gets called in, as I may need extra for the leccy as its snowing everywhere!!

I have also had a bit of a result out of someone else’s misfortune..I feel bad for doing it but, one of the guys that was made redundant was our fire marshal so I put myself forward to replace him as soon as I could…bad I know jumping in his grave but its £250 a year extra pay.. not to be sniffed at that’s 50% of what I owe on one of the credit cards….I’m already a first aider now so that’s £250 too..no one else wants to do it and it gets paid just before Dec so by next Christmas if I haven’t done before I could clear that card in one payment..so feeling guilty but needs must!

    NSD’s
Today is not a NSD as I have to buy some stamps…but they are to send claim letters off for some tax I’ve over paid J its only £12 but that would bring 1 credit card down under the £500 mark so its important! Def NSD on Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week thought *LOL*

    Car Insurance
I have also shopped around for my car insurance this month and made a saving of £25.44 on my renewal amount which I’m pleased with and the excess is much much lower so if I do have a dink in my car it’s not going to kill me trying to cover the excess! I just wish I had been MSE before now and managed to save more than just the deposit I am incurring more cost because I need to pay monthly – guess that will be different next year J

Targets for the last 2 weeks of december:
DO NOT SPEND IN THE SALES!!
Do not buy any more food unless is salad and veg
    10 NSD
DO NOT SPEND IN THE SALES!!
Get back into the earn £10 a day as I was doing really well on that
Try the comp boards..try my luck

Excellent!!! I love surprises like this. Have a fabulous time :)
  • Thank you!!! so excited!!!
  • Wow what a night! Rihanna was awesome I have no voice, My feet still ache from dancing and I’m shattered but the best xmas present ever! He even took me for cocktails and dinner im soo lucky J all I had to pay for was a taxi home which was £6 I was hoping to walk but my trains were screwed and there wasn’t a lot of people about so I thought safety first!

The week just keeps getting better I’ve just logged into Quidco and I have £42.04 due on the next payment run! What a lovely surprise! I got cashback for the holiday I booked a few months back but they hadn’t tracked and there was no response to my claim so I thought It would not happen.. but it has!! Then I make some Christmas biscuits and brought them into work on Friday and the lady that sits a few rows behind me has asked me to make 50! I’m just working out a price!

I paid £180 off my debts yesterday so I’ve updated my sig and my spreadsheet, which works a lot better now! And I have a friend that announced at lunch yesterday she is desperate to get out of using her overdraft so I’ve sent her my spreadsheet and it was so nice to pass on some of what I have learnt on here it felt really good to help someone else. One of my christmas present companies have let me down, I ordered a DVD for my dad next day and although getting an email saying its despatched I’ve had another one in the middle of the night saying they can’t complete my order because my credit card details are out of date?! I’m going to have to go and find an HMV now I won’t have time between now and xmas day to get to the shops which is annoying!

Tonight I am popping round a friend’s house to swap presents and have a catch up so a cheap night, I do have to put petrol in the car though so not a NSD for me.

I’ve been busy on the competitions board but haven’t won anything yet…fingers crossed!

  • 3 sleeps to go! I’m very excited now this week just keeps going strength to strength!

Packed my suitcase last night and wrapped the last of my presents – shot in to Mr T’s last night to get something for my godson and found a brand new Despicable me WII game for £9.90 and £10 was my budget so that 10p has gone in the money pot I rescued from being thrown away. I’ve got a very cheap couple of days coming up thanks to mum and dad and my friend holding a new years party at her house

I’ve worked out I can pay my loan off by May, which means I will have an extra £169 to throw at the remainder… that’s almost double what I have to chuck at them now! I’m so excited! And I’ve been accepted as a Fire warden as well as a First aider at work so I will get £300 extra in my November pay every year after tax! I’ve done some calculations and by September the small credit card will be gone!! I just feel so happy! I can actually do this! Once that’s gone I will put the whole £300 on the last card (and the biggest) a month.

Today is not a NSD I stopped at superdrug on the way to work and got some shampoo and conditioner I always buy head and shoulders which is ££££ but everything else seems to dry my scalp, did use my points card but still had to pay 44p!

I got my car insurance paperwork through and I’ve actually saved £50! Better than I thought so I’ve updated the spread sheet which is now set up to be my master for 2012! dactylo.gif
