  • Hey,

Don't feel down. Remember, the road to being DF is long and bumpy. We all get unexpected money grabbers from time to time. Just look back at what you wrote "I could have doubled my payments" That means you had your own money and effectively had an emergency stash. That's impressive :D

Regarding the the new man - it would be very surprising if he doesn't have money issues himself. If he wants to go out on a date, find somewhere which have deals on without the need for a voucher. Or cook him something :)

  • Hello and well done on such a great start!

I would love to subscribe but I am not sure how - please could someone point me in the right direction.

Also, it might be too late now, but I think you can still pay for a parking fine and then appeal the decision so you can be sure that you don't have to pay the higher fee.
  • thanks guys, LG - crikey I guess it could have been a lot worse! I could have got my hands on that much!

greensaints I hadn't thought of it like that! back in august it would have meant I couldn't eat for the rest of the month or something! :j

I spied Mr G at the Microwave station today for lunch granted it was tinned soup but could be a sign he is watching his money too in conversation he said about going out again so I mentioned going to the cinema next week (Orange Wednesday :D) and he said yes :D

Now i'm scared! more scared than I was when i totted up my debt...and that was pretty scared!

Hi happihorse, i've done it twice let me see if I can remember and i'll PM you xx

oooohhhh a hot date! Fabbo! I noticed that you mentioned being part of a research panel and testing drinks for £80 - have you done it yet?
  • Hey

yes I just had to try a drink and talk about he taste and the packaging easy money!!

Well day 2 in november and what an exciting start to the month! despite my little downer yesterday i'm back up and running - I've got 1 NSD under my belt :D, I've got myself a date..with a boy!!:D:D , i've made £46.00 already in cashback:D:D:D and I have 3 Extra jobs over the next two weeks :j :j:j

With any luck I will smash my £10 a day target to pieces, and I haven't even started on Ebay yet! i'm so excited about the extra work its £90 per day roughly after the agency take their cut.

I chatted to Mr G again today, he wanted to pay for the cinema so I said no we'd go dutch and Its orange wednesday he seemed quite impressed i wanted to pay my own way and I had a voucher! he said he would pay for the pick n mix, we are going to see Paranormal Activity 3  .... well i might need a cuddle! i've decided if it comes up ever i'm going to explain i'm paying of " a credit card" from when I lost my job, that way i don't have to admit how much but he will be aware i'm focused on paying that off, if he is the sort of bloke I think he is he will respect that.
  • At the beginning, I bet it'll never get mentioned. If you don't make it obvious by paying for things in pennies and saying "OMG! I could have got £5 cashback online!" you'll be fine :D

Seriously though, just say that you're paying off a card like you say. No more needs to be said then that. If you make it too elaborate he may ask more questions. Keep it simple :)

Well done on your £10 a day target :D Keep up the good work

  • Hey Gang

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Sorry I have been Awol but I've been busy not spending money!! :j
So whats new?! I've done a days' filming on my first extra job, and it would have been a complete NSD if i hadn't have stopped for petrol because I got brekkie, lunch AND DINNER!!! bonus!! I had such a brilliant time, it was only an advert and I was only used once but It was nice to meet all these different people. There were some characters that could have been straight from the "extra's" tv series but all in all they were a lovely bunch and I enjoyed seeing how it was all done. I earnt £90 plus £9 for travel and I think I have to pay my book fee out of that so its not a huge amount but its a start hopefully I will get more jobs. I need to think of something to do in the dead time, as there was a lot of sitting about, maybe i should take up knitting or something?

Sooooo the date! it was lovely, paranormal activity...jumpy (so i got a cuddle) and he took me out for a bite to eat first which I really liked he is lovely, the question about the debt didn't come up but he did say he didn't mind the orange wednesday thing, he said that he thought it was brilliant value for money :D but.... i really like him, he was such a gent and we talked for ages and just seem to get on really well, he has just text me saying he would like to go out again soon :D i'm all :D but now i have the problem of dating on a tight budget. :o

So what else have i been up to..well i scanned all my CD's into magpie, i wont get a lot for them but i guess once i've loaded them on Itunes i wont need them, i'm going to keep a couple of my favourites.

I'm getting a bit annoyed with the surveys as i seem to be answering a lot of questions and then being told i'm not suitable - I guess I will carry on though and pennies add up.

I've also being doing my reviews and i'm getting good feedback, i've also put in 5 product requests, one of which is like a product of the month so if I get it I will be 1000 points :T

I've batched baked some more lasagna and i think I have food enough to get me through til pay day which is 16 days away! :( 2

I'm still keeping an eye out for the next ebay free weekend as I have some Karen Millen boots and a pair of shoes I want to put on there.

I've also been on a misson to get the rest of my life in order, i've cleaned out all my kitchen cupboards and i'm working on my bedroom as we speak I got all my paperwork in order, before my lightbulb moment i'd just been chucking it all in a drawer which i think was part of the reason I let my debt go so bad.
  • So I’ve stalled, I’ve not been at all well and I’ve slept for pretty much a week solid, bit annoyed because I could have been doing surveys but my body obviously needed to sleep to fit the cold.
    So the good news!

    · The boys has been texting all week checking up on how I’m feeling and said he would take me for dinner when I’m better :D
    · I have done a couple of surveys and extra earnings are topping up nicely although I’ve lost track!
    · I’ve signed up for another extra agency :D
    · i've lost 6lb
    · I’ve bought the majority of my xmas presents :)

    The bad news!
    · My train fare is going up 5.9% in Jan which is a fair amount :(
    · Petrol is going up again…
    · The NSD’s are suffering because I’ve been get xmas presents
    · An the biggy My company are making 10% of my department redundant next month with more to follow in jan

However… I have been asked by a friend to send my CV into her company..for a similar job to what I do now, but for more money…so I’m going to apply, I don’t know if I’m the numbers to be made redundant but I’d rather not sit around waiting for it to happen either, it’s a permanent job too which is hard to come by at the moment. I guess you can't really be loyal to companies anymore, they will make you redundant at the drop of a hat...i need to keep my options open.

    Targets for this week
    • 5 NSD i've done really badly this month
    • At least 20 surveys
    • Go back to the gym at least twice this week
    • Register at the other agency tomorrow
    • Send my CV tonight
    • keep the weight off
    • Find out whether i paid PPI for a car loan agreement in 2001
    • Look into maybe cutting back on my sky subscription
