What do they consider to be "return out of ebay rules?"

If PayPal won't refund, you should pursue your debit card issuer.
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark
• item was bought from ebay and as one has to open a "case" to return item, i thought wot would be easier than phone supplier up and tell them i would send them back ,, so ebay will be saying i went outside there rules and not covered by them

I am not that familiar with E-bay's policies, but that doesn't sound right to me.

• We are a start up business and recently launched at an exhibition at EarlsCourt. We ordered an item of furniture from Furniture at Work (based inGlasgow) on the specific understandingthat they could deliver in it plenty oftime for the show. We even prepared afascia to the exact dimensions of the furniture at a cost of £80.

The agreed delivery date (three daysbefore the show) came and nothing showed up ....when we called them they saidthat their delivery dates were ‘only an estimate’ and it would be impossible toget anything to us until the following week ie AFTER the exhibition had takenplace.

After several fruitless conversations with Furniture at Work we spoke direct to the manufacturer whosaid they could get the item delivered direct to Earls Court – an option werefused as the idea of something turning up on the morning the show opened andbeing safely delivered to our stand was not exactly practical. We asked Furnitureat Work to put the order on hold until after the show when we could evaluatewhether or not we still had any need for it all. On our first day back in the office wecancelled the order.

The next we heard from Furniture at Work was a ‘cancellation charge’ of£79!!!! The item of furniture only cost £199 in the first place. Despite repeated calls and emails they arerefusing to refund our money. To addinsult to injury they have an overpriced phone number and the last timeI called them they kept me on hold for 7minutes – listening to how great their customer service is! I’ve clocked up over £17 in calls to try andget my money refunded.

We paid for this via the company debit card – their customer service guytold me their terms and conditions (on their website but not supplied with theorder confirmation) covered them to charge a cancellation fee in thesecircumstance.

If anyone can help us get the money back from them I would really appreciateit! I have seen other review sites withpeople having a similar experience with this company .

Thanks!!

This is a B2B contract - nothing to do with CONSUMER rights, sorry. What matters is the T&Cs you signed up to.
• In dispute with Virgin at the moment who failed to deliver a parcel and had to re-deliver the next day and still they couldn’t deliver within the time slot. I am pursuing a claim, but Virgin has responded with a poultry offer and stated it was final. They said it wasn’t their fault and the delivery company (they’ve contracted) are at fault and my grievance is with the delivery company. They also stated that I would be wasting my time trying to pursue this complaint further, as it wouldn’t change anything to what had been offered. This came from their customer complaints department. Virgin is a large company and I am surprised at the lack of consumer law they should be aware of or their blatant disregard for it. So will see how things turn out that’s providing if they comply with their terms and agreement policy and my complaint is escalated to a Manager.

I must admit, I'd feel a bit insulted as well, if all they'd offered me was a chicken as compensation.

• I ordered some items from republic via their website on the 2nd December and as of the 20 th December I still havnt received anything. They quite 3-5 working days. I've emailed them twice and had no response and when I try to call am constantly on hold. All I want is my items. Looked on their facebook page and looks like a lot of other people are having the same trouble. The worry is now that some people are reveiving the wrong orders with other peoples invoices in. What can I do??
