  • I try not to overkill - usually 5-10 per shop.

Have used the Somerfield one's recently but all gone now.

Could have done with some of those £5 daz ones though ;)

You can still send off for Daz coupons up until March I think, you get sent one per application. Some people are regularly sending off 10 postcards per week (I haven't as I have enough coupons to use at the mo). I found a few boxes with coupons in this week, but they were only 50p ones (bought them anyway as I do use Daz sometimes).

Search the Chat Forum for 'Daz Millions' using the drop-down menu at the top of the page, that should find you the thread giving the address. The coupons are usually 50p but can be £1 or £5 ones.

Places to get coupons include magazines and newspapers (check the Newspaper thread here every lunchtime to see what's been posted in the coupon line). Check MBN's magazine thread where details of magazines with coupons are continually updated to the first post. If there is a good mag or paper (say with scannable coupons worth 3 or 4 times the cost of the rag) we have been known to rush out and buy 20 copies!

Then there's eBay (check that the coupons are original manufacturers' coupons, NOT store-specific, not internet prints/copies, and have a long expiry date). There are bargains to be had but I wouldn't bother to buy small-value ones like multiples of 20p off as they are such a pain if your store accepts just one coupon!

There's also a thread about printable coupons (Stebiz, are you around to give the link to the real money-off coupons blogspot?).

If I have extra points coupons as well as money off coupons I will first hand over the money off coupons, wait and see how many they take and then when they give you the final total I say, oh yes, I also have these extra points vouchers which they then have to scan. Otherwise the jobsworth or the idle ones will just look at a pile of mixed coupons and points vouchers and give them straight back to you, refusing to take the lot saying they just cant take all of these.

The other thing I do is if I am going through the basket till with just a few £s worth I also give them a few small coupons, the 10ps and 20ps to scan. It gets rid of them and even 50p or £1 of coupons off a small shop helps

Just to clarify; Do Tesco accept vouchers for products that you have not bought as long as they are generic ones from the manufacturer? Is this store policy or is it at the whim of the people manning the checkouts?

I have never used vouchers for products I had not bought as I assumed that the contract between store and manufacturer is that the customer must buy the item? I may well try a few at the weekend.

I annoyed the cashier in Waitrose with £30 of 10p reduced items, most of which had to be entered manually as the reduced label wouldn't scan. There was a few non reduced items too. then it came to paying... Payed £30 in low value coupons (20-50p ish ones) (about 80 coupons! :rotfl:) and a little bit of cash. Cashier didn't stop moaning about it! Neither did the old bat in the cue behind me lol!
