Addicts will find a way to feed their addiction. Have you seen the number of online gambling sites?
I think the OP would like the online sites banned too.

Not too sure that his MP will have much influence in those far flung countries[1] where some of them are sure to be based.

[1] I have no idea where any online gambing sites are based.
But one thing is sure, ban UK online gambling sites and more foreign sites will appear.

I bet not one single bookmaker has ever been charged by the commission on this matter.
Could that be because the commission believes that all bookmakers are following that part of the rules correctly?

You can read can't you, it is clearly because the regulation in place does not actually mean anything substancial due to its wording. Do you truely believe that no bookmaker has never taken money from somebody they have suspected as having a problem. You seriously cannot believe that..... Can you?

OP, from memory you've said you have racked up 30k of debts in 9 months. Also from memory you've said on another thread you started gambling in an attempt to avoid bankruptcy. Where does someone facing bankruptcy lay their hands on 30k to gamble with? Just curious.

Can you provide proof that they have?

I'm sensing the beginnings of another debate here - better regulation of those pesky banks!
  • I just want to say Good Luck to OP in this crusade! I'd say the behavior you exhibited is quite clearly 'problem gambling' and most should have been to trained staff, or even untrained staff, of a betting shop. Ploughing money into a slot machine at the rate you stated you were, clearly shows a problem with a person's mind set whether they be a millionaire or pauper.
If the OP had spent money at the same rate on races etc, then a bookmaker would have no reason to think anything, other than the usual punter making some bets.
The OP's problem also relates to online gambling also, where people much get into all sorts of problems spending much money in such little time playing slot machines. Also may i add that a lot of psychology goes into designing and making these machines. All designed to have you spend as much time, therefore money, with your eyes glued to the spinning reels.

Further loans and current credit cards and payday loans.

further loans was when my credit file was still in order despite over egged borrowing in accordance to salary.

Already had credit cards but maxed all 5 out on gambling

Payday loans, will be leant to anybody.

does that answer your question satisfactorarily?
