Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Sunday 2nd Oct. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All,
DS was the alarm clock this morning " Hungy Mummy", So Weetabix and Thomas the tank it is .
Had a fantastic day y'day
, Kids had great fun in the sea:T. Will catch up with y'day thread IAM.

Have Happy Mondays xxx

Bargain Bird - it sounds like you had a fabulous day yesterday and wonderful memories for all of you:T:T:T
I am feeling a bit jaded as one of my sons was up in the night with a tummy ache and trip to the loo. This in itself was fine but set my DD off on one as she is phobic of being sick and got herself all worked up as she thought he had a tummy bug:eek::eek::eek: I told her it was the heat as he had not set foot out of his bedroom, except to eat, and it was like a furness up there as he lives in the attic and had all his technology turned on:eek::eek::eek:
So does not bode well for my day as have a list of jobs todo. The most important being cup cakes for nursery as it is Mooloo's DGD birthday tomorrow.
Tea and more tea! It is going to rain on Wednesday:T:T:T My garden is literally parched and badly needs it:eek::eek::eek:

Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning BargainB and all who follow. Bit more sleep but still feeling Ugg like. Got up to avoid waking DH who has long day today.
I need to clear living room and kitchen which have turned into pits over the weekend. Other than that we'll see what I have the energy for as I ate a small piece of chicken and some plain rice yesterday.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
Morning bargainbird, Molly, cat_smith and everyone else
Very windy here, and rained at teatime yesterday and overnight, so our extra summer is over! Got loads of gardening done, tons of washing, etc., so will do some long-overdue inside jobs today - lots of clean clothes to side, baking to do and bathroom to clean.
Hope you all enjoyed the lovely weather if it's gone for you, too!
DS has an interview tomorrow (well, more like a day working to see if he and firm get along) in a regional city near us, so has to get a shirt and tie today. Early night for him, too, as he'll have to leave the house around 0630 in order to get there for 0800 - trains get VERY busy here, and often postponed or cancelled due to cable thefts, etc. Not sure if he'll take the job given the expense of getting there versus low wage, but good interview experience.
Have a good morning all, hugs and kisses if needed!

Good Morning everyone ,another hot one today forecast but hopefully coolinga bit as we go through the week.My lawn is so brown and dead looking I just know its going to revive with a drop of water.I don't like to water the grass if I can help it as I think grass is one thing that nature can take care of .
School run this morning then hopefully back to do my mountain pile that I've avoided for a couple of days (far too hot to bother )then whip round to DD to let the dogs out at lunchtime and check all's well then home unti 3.15 then off to pick the little guys up.I will take some HM cookies with me for after school. No shopping to get today so third day of NSD which is good for my purse. After all my baking over the week-end the cake tins are full and I shall be rummaging from the freezer this week.Half term is looming shortly so I shall save my pennies for then I am hopeing to take the boys up to the London Eye in half term I have been on it already, but the boys haven't,so that will be a special treat for them.
Right time to get a wriggle on and have a shower and some breakfast.
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Hubby has dragged himself to work in spite of having manflu! It's my DS's birthday today so I will drop off the 2 books I bought him that he asked for. My packup today is cheese salad & everything in it is from the garden apart from the cheese.
Shepherds pie for tea made from leftover roast lamb, it's all made & ready to be heated up when I get in from work, I shall serve it with carrots & runners from the garden.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hi everyone,
I'm new here.I've been lurking for the last few days but I've only just plucked up the guts to join in so here goes.
I'm a student and I've got my first lecture of the year after the summer at 9am today, hence the early start (early for me anyway). I'm sticking the WM on before I go for the OH to put out later (isn't he lovely?) as I'm not back until about 3pm. Dinner tonight will either be HM fish pie or chicken fajitas, depending on how OH's manflu is feeling by tonight. Not sure about lunch, I'm still new to this OS lark and lunch is the meal I struggle with the most, I never know what to make.
Anyway, that's me and I'll probably pop in again this evening when I'm done.
Hugs to anyone who needs them and enjoy the hot weather. We'll all be complaining it's too cold before the week's out (or is that just me? :rotfl: )

Morning All,
Another bright day here but there is a breeze & it feels a bit cooler, am considering washing the front room & bedroom curtains today & also need to repair the net from our room as it got caught up yesterday & has a rip. DS is just about to go out the door & the kettle is on & I am trying to work out what to wear on my feet as I do not possess any open toed shoes & have now taken the dressing off of my toemaybe I shall just potter about indoors.
Hope everyone has a good start to the week, hugs, spoons & hi5's x
