Insufficient Postage

I received a card through the letter box informing me that they were unable to deliver a special delivery item due to insufficient postage ~ odd, as SD has to be weighed and paid for at the counter. Anyhoo, they want £6.90 from me to receive the item, but as I've already paid postage, I don't wish to do so again, as I may not be reimbursed.
I have mailed the seller, explaining that I believe the postage label to have come unstuck. I requested that the seller send me the £6.90, and take her receipt to RM and reclaim her costs, but have received no response.
What now?

I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

Give them another day or two as they may be away for the weekend.
If you don't hear anything by tomorrow evening I would suggest that you send one further e-mail.
Advise the seller that as the label may have come off the package their return address may also have been lost and that if it remains uncollected by you then they may not receive it back.
Tell them that as soon as you've received the money from them you will collect the item and send the receipt for the postage that you had to pay so that they can reclaim it.0 -

If you still want the item you would have to pay the postage again.
A good seller will of course refund insufficient postage!
If you receive no reply from the sender and you want to look elsewhere for the item, open an Item Not Received case.0 -
This always drives me mad. I'm a great fan of Royal Mail as we would be far worse off without it. However, the equivalent service by Parcelforce, through the Post Office, doesn 't need a postage label. Neither should Special Delivery. You can't get either without paying, so I can't see the purpose of a sticky label.
It's a nuisance for both of you, but neither of you are at fault.0 -
If it's returned to sender, will PP refund me? Doesn't she have the tracking number? Do PP check the status and see it's returned? But what if she says I refused delivery?I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Yes, you will get your refund.
The seller will need to show proof of delivery and not only attempted delivery.
The only time when attempted delivery may be accepted by paypal & ebay is when a buyer is returning an item for a refund following a dispute.
If the seller refuses to accept it to try to avoid habing to refund, then the attempt at delivery is sometimes good enough for the buyer to get their refund.0 -

Buyer would not have to pay again. If seller wants the item sold they would have to resend at their own cost or reimburse the buyer in fullThis always drives me mad. I could still make an insuccient payment though if i use paypal postage, ir pay for 550g and then when I go to post office with my pre stamped item for a tracking number actually have a 2kg item. My office never re check the weight.gravitytolls wrote: »If it's returned to sender, will PP refund me? Doesn't she have the tracking number? Do PP check the status and see it's returned? You could have underpaid, as can happen with Parcelforce. The check is made by the receiving carrier, i.e. the barcode has all that info in it. Barcode is read, the weight is checked and the price must be enough or the package goes no further.
I think the method is different because the way the PO get paid is also different. SD is lumped in with all postage, whereas Parcelforce have their own system.0 -

Parcelforce priority services only have the service barcode label. No postage label.0
