Can I simply just switch a pc on and off using the button ?....

Ok, that would be great... I bet though it's not as simple as unplugging the ethanet from the back of the PC now and sticking it into the modem is it ? Though, it would be great if it were to be that simple, lol

Does this help?

If not read the user manual.

I suspect the OP's 'main PC' is a desktop and does not have a wireless connection. So he'll need to buy a wireless card for it, or he could get a switch to connect the wired PC and the WG602 to.
Or he could get a wireless router to replace it, a non wireless router would also be an option but they don't seem much cheaper new.
Of course he may already have wireless connectivity in the main PC.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

If that is the case Bill, that PC could connect to the cable modem using USB port (spit) and the Ethernet port on the cable modem could be used to connect to the Netgear access point to give connectivity to the other PC's. Then all PC's could be used as and when required. i.e. the main PC could be switched off. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Thanks everyone for your help ! Not had chance to have a good luck at the latest replies as this 'she' has the tea to cook for the kids
( I find tea cooking much easier than networking, lol ) I'll be back though, hopefully with a result ! ( A network one that is )

Didn't want you to think I'd forgotten about your help here guys

I need to use my pc for work at the moment so daren't go messing too much with the set-up in case I completely mess things up !
Your help has given me a few areas to explore. I'm going to try setting up without the connection to the permanently on pc. If that doesn't work I'll take a look at the downloads suggested.
Once again, thanks for your help. I hope you don't mind if I crop up on here again soon when I've lost all use of my home computers !!

Here we go again !
Morning you luvery people
Ok, this morning I connected the WG602 to the modem via the ethanet and so making the 'pc which is always switched on' obsolete.
Although the remote pc is connected to the WG111T, I cannot connect to the WG602. I've tried, what to me are the obvious things and now I'm back reading the manual ! ( Oh and have reconnected using the USB so that I can get on MSN, lol ! )
I've tried using the 'connect to a wireless thing' but it keeps failing saying that it can't get an IP address ? Oh, and it has nothing to do with the LAN connection 'unplugged' does it ?
I hate manuals
