Brushed cotton reminded me last year I got two sets of flannelette sheets sets (pillow cases, flat sheet and fitted sheet). One set I got from John Lewis the other from Dunelm. Nothing wrong with the Dunelm, they were just not as thick and substantial as the John Lewis ones. So tonight I have ordered one more set of flannelette sheets and got free delivery with them. They have about 10 or so of each size in stock so if you are thinking of ordering them I would do it now, because last year I left it until August time or so and they had run out on the website and I was able to get mine through a telephone order delivery from JL at High Wycombe. Be worth you having a look if you are thinking about buying those and they are coming back with 5 ratings as well.

Forgot to add that Lidl have the mircofibre jersey cotton sheets in this week as well which some of you went for last year!

Thanks for that, going to buy another one, found them lovely and soft and don't need ironed. (Not that I would!:o) Some of the colours are pretty awful though so you just have to keep looking until you're lucky! Found them a nice genorous size too, you can stretch them over the corners!:T

Any one know how much the lidl jersey sheets costs. DH would have to go get them while at work and he wouldn't bat an eye lid at the cost so I want to know before I send him in case I think they're too expensive (although I doubt it in lidl) :)

We had a power cut last night for 5 hours and i suddenly realised that although i am almost sorted with keeping warm and fed in the winter i am no where near organised for powercuts. We dont have them very often but i was lost last night. I need to work out how to unplug house alarm. We dont use it to be honest and the only time it goes off is when the power comes back on - 12.40 last night. I feel i cant go to bed as i need to be near the controller ready to put code in. If it was unplugged somehow at least i could just go to bed and hope it was all sorted by the morning.
I did have a torch (windupable!) but that was about it. Need to have a pack of cards or a book or something - silly me didnt realise that internet would go down as well, so even though laptop was half charged i still couldnt browse net for something to do.

While i am here, what is the best way to deal mold on the walls in my lounge. I moved sofa during the week and the outside wall has mold on it. It obviously doesnt get much air.

    Sorry to ramble.

We sometimes get black spot mould on our walls (caused by condensation from the shower we think) and use a mildew remover spray we already had, but I think the contents is mainly bleach. Certainly it ruins your clothes if you accidently get some on them. However it does work on the mouldy wall!

thank you for that will mix some bleach and water and try wiping off. I dry a lot of our clothes around the house in the winter but do have those humidifier pots scattered around to help. Think i need to sort something else for this year maybe

I haven't used flannelette/brush cotton sheets on the bed. Instead I use fleece blankets. I got 2 large ones last year from Argos for about £12 & they cover the whole of the mattress & I think they'd be OK for king size beds too. I have cartoon ones for the kids & they are lovely & warm.
