we had mold on l/room wall when we took xmas tree down in jan never had it on that wall before and been here 27 yrs council treated it with some mold kill stuff then came back and painted it with an anti mold paint it insulates the wall so any moisture in the air won't settle on that wall its been ok since he did it and he said a strong bleach would work as well so when i had same problem in kitchen i painted the wall with neat bleach and so far its not come back it hasn't even damaged the paint typical we are going to repaint kitchen soon so it didn't really matter but be careful if your not planning on repainting i use a dehumidifier when drying washing indoors it helps dry things faster didn't have it in l/room over xmas and that's why we got the problem im saving up to get the special paint cos that part of the wall is so much warmer now im hoping it will help keep the whole room warmer2nd purse challenge no040£0 Sealed pot challenge ???? £2 trolley find not counting small coins till end year0

I haven't used flannelette/brush cotton sheets on the bed. Instead I use fleece blankets. I got 2 large ones last year from Argos for about £12 & they cover the whole of the mattress & I think they'd be OK for king size beds too. I have cartoon ones for the kids & they are lovely & warm.
we do this too and kids wrap themselves up in one as well they dry so much quicker than flannelette sheets daughter also used to love the pjs in flannelette/brushed cotton but last year had more of the fleece ones and again they dry so much faster and are so warm she sometimes wears the bottom half under her jeans in winter2nd purse challenge no040£0 Sealed pot challenge ???? £2 trolley find not counting small coins till end year0 -

*lurker coming up for air* was wondering if anyone had spotted fleece or flannel ladies pjs anywhere. My v v old ones have finally given up the ghost. I went to buy new ones in town and all I could find are cropped legs and thin cotton brrrrrr *cold*. Has anyone seen any? I'd prefer to buy in store so I can try on for size.
p.s. love this thread. Can't wait for a place of my own so I can make it warm and cosy.0 -
I normally don't see the warmer stuff coming into stores until the very end of August/early September. Primark is my first choice for pj's at this time.0

i agree - primark is definately first stop for pjs for both kids and me. Not badly priced eitherMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

My two kids are still in their Primark PJ's from last autumn. They are short in arms and legs but 3/4 lengh is perfect for the summer0

Well my muddy puddles order arrived. I had ordered 4 pairs of mitts in Different sizes, 2 fleece gloves and a hat for the kids. Got it all for a few quid, postage was more than the cost of the items
One pair of gloves is too small so going to sell and will probably make a profit :T
Anyone know where's selling men's slippers, nice toasty cheap warm ones?

well its beginning to feel like winter! I've already bought a bit of coal. need to get oil more coal and plenty of wood and lighting sticks in before the end of October. We're ok for blankets candles clothes mittens etc but i'll think of adding to the stockpile with basic foodstuffs. Am ok for things at the moment.0
