Anyway I just had to report that it has now started flowering Yayyyyyyy!!!!!! I'm thrilled and feel like patting myself on the back for nurturing it into it's first flowering time!!!
I have been very careful not to move it about and it has sat quite happy on top of my piano in the livingroom for 10 months....
Ok go on...... Someone burst my bubble by telling me they are virtually un killable, my mums is very temperamental and although it flowers the leaves are very thin and un spongey compared to mine hahaha One up on mum for a change!!!:rotfl:
That is great, although am ok on most houseplants I have never been able to get a cactus to flower, I usually kill them, so very well done, will look lovely and bright during this dull season :ANeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Been to Mothers this evening for a lovely roast chicken dinner which went down very well after a long day at work, Mum offered me the left overs for the dogs which I knew they would love, so being my thrifty self I scraped all the plates into a big bowl along with any left overs and my pugs had a feast...... They are now snoring their heads off, but blowing off in their sleep, so it smells like I have cooked a sunday dinner in here Hahaha!!!!
May not be so eager to take the leftovers for the puggies next time, Poooof it's stinkin!!! Am off to bed!!!

We had Cottage Pie for dinner tonight. Sitting by the fire now relaxing. Supposed to be around 0c here overnight-- I'll be cozy under my flannel sheets and down comforter. Back to work tomorrow and Tuesday then off the rest of the week for our American Thanksgiving on Thursday. I'll be cooking and cleaning on Wednesday and Friday is known here as "Black Friday"-- the official start of the Cmas shopping season. The stores run all kinds of crazy sales and some people spend the night in front of the store waiting for their doors to open to get the special offers. People have been trampled to death!0

Another post about cold/flu meds! I had the first sniffles last night so straight to Mr T's for 19p paracetamol capsules. I already have some nasal sticks (?£1 for two in a pound shop somewhere I think) and some multi-vits and orange juice. I really am skeptical about buying the 'expensive' branded meds having read through some of the posts on here! Also picked up a slow cooker at £9 too.
I recently got around to making a curtain to put on my front door, and it's too heavy for the brackets I put up, oops, probably should've tested it first!November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150
December £10 a day challenge: £279.00/£310
Started comping too - no luck yet!

My A#da delivery of tins has just arrived
I have put it all out on the kitchen table in groups....and am now munching Dolly Mixtures while wondering desperately "where the fe(k am I going to put all this?!?!?!?!?!"
Actually I've finished munching and still have no actionable game plan. Of course, it would help if we didn't have almost a hundred jars of last year's jams and preserves on the shelves in the pantry. Hmmm *goes back to pondering*

I`ve just come back from the farmers shop with some rainproof lockable rat bait holders and a box of bait in pouches and the bait is now set outside. I have been reading that there is an explosion in the rodent population and was once working in a building with a rat problem. The side was taken off the building and it was full of rat runs ( a school no less) so we are taling no chances as we are cedar clad here with shredded paper insulation, no holes but rats can make holes.
I need to wash a sheepskin rug and am so tempted to get it on but know it will hang around for days, it is so gloomy yet again.
I have the nov weather forecast in front of me, produced in the middle of october and fog was firmly forecast down the east and across far south, it was just slightly the wrong day but only out by a couple of days. Next is a blast of cold
dh is juicing veg now for a vitamin drink, carrots, celery, beetroot and endive. Time to get the winter health boosters down us as a change in seasonal weather is an illness trigger. If you are worried about winter vits and fresh foods then look up the sprouting seeds thread. You only need simple seeds like alfalfa, jars and a pair of tights. Alfalfa is best and is ready in about 5 days0 -
It's officially cold here - my runny honey has set. Time to start keeping it in the living room...0
