Hi all.
Where do you all buy your wellies from? i used to buy them from Clarkes, but cant afford it this year.
Cleggie i bought a fantastic pair of fleecy lined ones last year from Lidl, they are the most comfortable pair that i`ve ever had and despite being worn all day for days on end they are still like new. They were only £9.99 too so it may be worth keeping an eye out for stock coming in this year if you have a shop close by.

It's like I'm doomed this winter, it's just been one thing after another!
The new duvet, blankets, pillows, thermal, usb etc I ordered from Asda never arrived. They went to the HDNL warehouse 3 miles from my house in London, then went to Birmingham, then Sheffield and were said to be delivered on the tracking, then I got emails from Asda confirming my refund. I think the pillocks ignored my postcode and tried delivering to the other Kingston...
I tried calling Asda to explain but I think they have a call centre abroad as they didn't understand the distances or HDNL and refused to believe they never even tried to deliver them. Asda don't even have an email address!!
It's so obvious HDNL eff-ed up, tracking says delivered, asda says 3 attempts of delivery, but the stuff never went near my houseI'm not really sure what to do now, I'm more annoyed because it means I've lost the delivery charge and passed up on other good deals on similar items in the shops.
It's getting so cold at night now I'm always frozen walking home at 5pm.
cleggie, try wilkinsons? they are a bit better than primark
singlestep, stocking up medicine is a very good idea! Maybe it's a bit TMI but I suggest everyone get some cystitis sachets, if you've had it you know how painful it can be and dangerous if you don't treat it fast. This happened to me last year and I ended up with a nasty kidney infection in february and I was out of action for 2-3 weeks.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
To follow on from the rodent tales, my mum woke up one night to the sound of a rat in her bedroom:eek: She shot out of bed, slammed door behind her and slept in living room. For 2 days, she did her damndest to catch the little sod, even cooking for it to tempt it out!. Eventually, got him caught & disposed of but had to do a job on cleaning the room. It was a week later when she realised that she ahd been sleeping on the couch and not in any of the beds in the other bedrooms!!!!!!!!A smile costs little but creates much0

At last, I have caught up with reading this interesting thread. Thanks to everyone who is posting. Yesterday I washed our winter duvet, a slighly thicker 4.5 tog duvet. I second that, a good few years ago I had cystitis and didn't do anything, ( had, had it in the past and it had cleared up by itself) I was busy just thought it would go, ended up one morning not able to move and doctor had to come up, turned out very bad kidney infection and surrounding tissues had swelled and were pressing on nerves in spine, was flat on my back in bed for a couple of weeks then had to have physio to get things working properly again. I was told in no uncertain terms I could have died if infection had travelled more and I was lucky it had gone the way it had, so making me get medical help.
I learnt my lesson to treat it straight away.
Note to self check if sachets I have in are still in date as thankfully not had it for a few years, thanks for the mention.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I can't take the creditSomebody on this thread - I forget who - reminded us all a few weeks back. I have some medication I only use as and when required and I've been using it a lot lately. I'm also going to need to stock up on tissues (for work - my box emptied very quickly due to lots of people having colds) and hand gel (for travel and for work). Your post has reminded me to add sachets to my list. I'll also add cranberry juice to my internet order, just because I like it.
Sorry about your delivery troubles. I'm sure that somebody else on MSE forums will know more about how to proceed now - e.g. letter to their main office or something I'm not thinking of right now!0 -
Thanks SD and Adelight.
I will keep an eye out for Lidls, and also have a look in Wilkos.
Do they both do kids sizes too do you know?0 -

People with heart problems should NOT try this method.
Indeed it is similar, but not the same. I tried it once and it made me throw up all the water I was trying to drink. When a course of sachets or a big bottle of liquid is <£1 it's not worth it to me.
Checking amazon for cystitis cures I found you can buy.... a canvas print of an illustration of a bladder with cystitis. Why? :eek:Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
