[STRIKE]Cut back everything in the garden late October to give your garden a big boost the following Spring. Roses love this![/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Wash curtains and cushion covers[/STRIKE]

Can anyone tell me what is the best way to close up the vent or what ever its called on the big window, I have shut it but still lots of noise coming through it. Never usually even close it, but today for some reason, powers that be have decided to put traffic lights just before the roundabout about 250 yrds away and now instead of traffic whizzing past we have a nice line of traffic waiting for lights to change, bad enough usually during rush hours, but now the noise of all the cars sitting there with engines on is driving me nuts and that is with double glazing, but can hear the noise loudly through the vent, well only a thin bit of plastic keeping air out. As what ever I use will be hidden by nets any suggestions would be great.
i used a bit of blue tak on both sides of mine for the bathroom, that way i can grab the handle withthe hook on my cane (it's in a deep window recess up high) and pull it back down the same way
in winter it let's in so much cold air as the wind seems to hit the house on that side first so this way i can use it some of the time but not have us freeze all of the time in the unheated bathroom!0 -
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Wanders off muttering to self "i do not need loo roll, i do not need loo roll":rotfl:
woman, are you mad? of course you need loo roll :rotfl:
sorry couldn't resist
i too was saying to myself the other day 'yes you know that you're down to only 8 10packs but you can wait awhile longer before buying more' then when in lidl i see it's gone up in price AGAIN and i'd already resisted buying it from tesco and asda as their value stuff no longer seems available in the 12 roll packs and the 4 or 6 roll packs are nearly the same price as the 12 roll packs were
i just figured i'd better stock up whilst i could still afford loo roll :rotfl:0 -
Toots you are doing amazingly well, how are you?
Long time since I've been here. Not going too well. I hate my new windows. They are not the style I wanted which I have to take responsibility for not checking properly. They are massively expensive and I'm horrendously disappointed. I know it sounds silly and winter wise of course they are better but as I dislike them so much I avoid going into the living room where the biggest one is.
I've done most of the outside jobs now. This weekend I want to defrost the garage freezer so I can get it stocked up for any emergencies.
I'll whiz back over the thread and see how you are all getting on.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
awh Dusty honey I am so sad to hear you dont like your windows - and you have to live with them now - I will ask for a lottery win for you so you can change them (((hugs)))
I am getting there but hampered by quite a lot of pain just now - my carer that takes me shopping on a thrsday is a gem and we have done quite a few things that are not on that list too - and i have persuaded her tht she needs to do some prep too and its rubbing off on her!!!!
if the white stuff comes now i will cope but not indefinately so would like another 2 weeks minimum!!! need loo roll and coke and some tins!!!!!
chin up angel - you know where i am

Blinds - roller or forget what others are called, the ones that are in strips but straight up and down not side to side, thick nets, voile, lace - just think of what you fancy at the windows to look at and go for it - just remember to use something that does still let the light in and not board them up :rotfl: You might find the do actually grow on you, but if not covering them up is the way to go, don't keep out of you living room, that would be such a shame, sending lots of hugsNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Anyone that has bought from Coopers of Stortford check you credit card, I just did and found they took more money off me today - my goods came to £161.90 but today they took another two payments of £9.99 and £14.99 bringing the total to 186.80. Its as if they think they have my card details they can help themselves. Yes they did give me back the £49.99 for the 4 in 1 car starter they cannot supply, but they don't seem to want to have to give it up so taking more. Have emailed them saying if do not hear back on return - tomorrow morning I will be contacting credit card company, seeing a lawyer, trading standards, will post on Martins Facebook page and not sure what else I can do, but if I do not get a promise of money returned and it back on card by Monday and assurance they have removed my credit card details from their system I will be doing something. Hubby did say was it VAT but checked their T&Cs the VAT is included in the price. Maybe they are overworked but to me its theft and theft is something I do not like. Oh am so  I also asked them if this is why on my account the order they show only comes to £96 instead of the £161.90 so they can keep taking money off me and hope I will not realise just how much my goods came to, I know shouldn't have put that but they have just got me so angry. First time anything like this has happened to me, so please anyone who bought from them if you can check your credit card debits online do so just to be safe.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch
