Wow thanks every one *Blushes*
On another positive note, I realise there are a few who read this forum who think we are all a bit barmy *badge of honor* but I froze last winter and since following this thread I have been slowly making adaptations when I could with little or no budget and it has paid off. I used my xmas / Birthday money last December to buy loft insulation and I have made small changed following all your good advice as time has progressed> We got our gas and electric bills and the direct debit we pay has now not only avoided us a bill but paid off some of my national debt from last year that we were struggling to pay and our account review went really well and we can continue as we are. So i wanted to say thank you to you all for all the help , motivation and advice , and to say to people out there thinking of doing this, or that we are all a bit mad well probably......... but for me , well it's worked a treat , and I don't intend to be cold or in fuel poverty this winter ! Thank you every one xxThank you to all the money savers:beer: for all the wisdom, companionship, bargains, competitions and ideas:T you have made a transformation to our household, Thank you, it would have been so much harder without you and together we are amazing :A:smileyhea0 -

Congrats Mrs DarkRev :j
For those who have a Costco card, I was in there last week and picked up Kleenex mansize at half price. Only picked up a pack of 6, so may feel the need to return!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
Today I really need to have a look at the Garden. I have no Grass so everything is in Pots (that's a lot of pots) My Blackberry bush needs desperate pruning. I need to find a cheap way to insulate the roots in some as the fleece is too expensive (I may ask over on greenfingered). Need also to check how my winter tatties are doing. We also had some high winds last night hopefully not any damage done
Anyway I need to make some room in my Freezer in prep for some of the stuff i'm planning to cook and freeze over the next few weeks. I have a load of Rhubarb frozen that I need to find a use for (any ideas)
I'm also in search for some reasonable quality wellies for the winter as it will make dog walking a little easier not haveing to fuss putting my walking boots on.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

The forecast today says that that it should remain dry and not get above 16 degrees so if that really does happen then its good as i need to get some more garden prep done.
I have pots all over the place waiting to be emptied into the composters and i`m going to sort out the rest of the greenhouse and maybe even plant some winter salad. Its been far too hot to venture into the garden much and i`ve also been arriving home from work worn out due to the heat so i`m actually looking forward to it being a little bit cooler - not TOO much though lol.
If i can get the back garden prep mostly finished today than i shall be happy, various errands to run too so fingers crossed.

You and me both, the garden bin was desperately needing emptying and I need to get out and cut the roses right back before the frosts set in. I also need to get the cordylines out and get those safely put away with fleeces round them as I lost every single one last year due to the extreme cold. I have pidgeon holed these jobs for tomorrow and maybe Thursday though and I also need to plant in the wall flowers as well.
:smileyheaMany, many congratulations Darkrev, you did keep that one quiet! Glad you have finally made it over the brushand you had a lovely day yesterday weatherwise for it to happen on.

Morning all,
Congratulations Darkrev:T
What a gale last night. Thought the roof was going to come off! Much of the same for the rest of the week. Had to put on the eleccy blanket for a bit to warm the bed up as house is chilly. I refuse to put the heating on until the end of the month.
Thanks to those who replied to my query. We are currently over £100 in credit so will speak to OH and see what he thinks.
Got some bits in Mr T last night. Struck gold in the shoopasie section. Got Finest garlic chicken, garlic ciabatta, fruit puddings all at half price. So they all went in freezer for when OH returns.
*As a side note my OH works offshore so he is away a lot of the time. Meal planning is a nightmare!
Need to get a small bag of compost to plant up some pretty heathers I got in L*dl.
Still need to get boiler serviced and some salt in. My prep is going really well although need to make a list to make sure I haven't missed anything.
I'm on holiday on Fri for 2 weeks and I cannot wait. Going to finish the prep and revel in my glory mwahahaha!:rotfl:
Havea great day:A0
