Preparing for winter III

Another wee job ticked off .... finally took up the curtains in the lounge - I'd let them down (had huge hems) months ago:o as they were a bit short and just never got around to doing them. They look sooooooo much better!:D
Also dug out a corded phone and have put is somewhere where I can easily find it in a power cut.
Finally gave in and bought a pair of warm pj's from e*bay - I usually wake up with frozen arms as tend to stick these out of the duvet for some annoying reason. All but one pair of my pj's have short sleeves so hopefully these new ones will help!
Still need to get a portable radio......
Really hoping it won't be a bad winter but I feel so much better knowing I'll be OK if the worst does happen. If the extra supplies aren't needed, this will help with the food budget next year so it's really a win, win situation as far as I can see.
Need to sort the garage again - it's unfortunately become a bit of a dumping ground since it was cleared out . I wish I'd put the car in then and it would've stayed tidy:o but I can't get in the freezer when it's in there.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -

it is pretty lightweight so dont know how well it will stand up to usuage -- it has 3 panels which you can use 1, 2 or 3 (400w each) I dont know for certain but I understand each panel costs approx 6p per hour and most people I know only use 2 once the heat has built up in the room - the orange glare takes a bit of getting used to but they are so safe and instant.
HTH
I know I'd posted saying thanks but I got one for DD and her BF this evening. Had a text to say that it's really warmed up the flat and that their staffy pup loves it as well. He'd plonked himself in front of it-lols0 -
I've had a mini disaster. I know cats hate change but one of them has gone and pee'd up my front door curtain and draught excluder so go them to wash grrrrr... don't they know it's for their benefit too? *rolls eyes*
It's 19.2 degrees in the sitting room without heating on tonight so its still pretty mild.1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

I have found some one local who will deliver cat food, not tried them yet as I suspect they don't do Pro Plan duck and rice (Sandy's favourite) but they say they will deliver all weathers also food for me if I can't get out in the snow :j So I may wait for the snow to try them out as I am stocking up at the moment with food for fur babies and me:)
Shame yours wont eat wet as they are also doing bOGOF on the pouches till 8th November. i have been stocking up x1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31

It's from a forum on there rather than the paper, and there was me thinking the posters were less scaremongering than the paper, and more like us, obviously not!
And thanks for reminding me about James Madden and the tyres connection, I couldn't remember what he did but knew it was nothing to do with weather forecasting.0
