is this printer any better than the epson d78 that dabs are doing for £29 ish, it's mainly if there is any difference in photo print quality?

Dont know about the D78 but I have the R200 and do loads of photos, as long as the heads cleaned regular it prints perfect. I love my pics! I also do them as postcards, pressies etc. Also use it for posters, leafetls occasionly - at that pric eits a good buy - https://www.ebuyer.co.uk was doing them a while ago quite cheap aswell incase you cant find the boots one. I get my ink from https://www.eco-office-supplies.co.uk £7 for full set!

If my printer now breaks I am blaming this post!

Just checked cos OH said I was wrong on price and unusually he is right the full set is only £6 .... I stand corrected!
  • I bought this printer a couple of months ago when Boots had it half price at £52 and it's brilliant. Bought some cheap ink from PC World online but not as good as the prices quoted on here. Going off to see if I can pick up one for my mum as I've broken her one!!!
    If I had known then what I know now . . .
:A Official Boots Tart (I seem to be retired just now though) :A
  • As ever none near me ......... they said they had one in balham :(

CRAP:mad:  the guy I spoke to at Boots never said anything about Balham despite the fact I told him I live in Clapham which is right next door. I've asked the missus to take a long round trip on her way home from work to get it from a boots in the city centre.

good luck finding one, my reserved one better still be there when the wife gets there this arvo.

  • I here everyone talk about compatibles but i've never ever had any luck with them, I use my printer maybe once every 2 months, but whenever I try to use it its always dried up, cleaning doesnt work either, my epson style 680 only prints black now as color has dried up, I used inkrite cartridges as well as I heard they have cleaning agents.
Even cleaning cycles dont help, so far i've had a canon, and an epson, both with same results, are the newer models better in terms of compatible cartridge usage?.
    Really tempted by the epson.

Thats the problem, not (necessarily) the compat carts.
You've goto keep the ink moving, print a test page once or week or so

I had an epson R300 for just over 12 months and I used compatibles all the time in it apart from the free set of epson ink that came with the printer, my printer died recently as it said a part had come to it's natural end of life but never had any problems with inks
