the trend over the years is that it will now go quiet for the Summer biggies... hard life having to pay for things .. haha

Likely to have to use the Orange Wednesday's or maybe even use that student card I got. ;)

With regard to the discussion about free previews.... over the years the admin has become appalling - I've experienced this personally in Manchester and it seems at quite a few venues around the country from the feedback on here.

In the early 2000's tickets were 'pickup' from the Cinema and I used to work next to the Manchester screen,,so it was good for me,,but hard for others.

Too many tickets were given out to make up for the 'no shows' and tickets T&C's clearly stated seats were 1st come 1st served...which worked well.

I would sometimes pop in on my lunch and ask the staff what they had and who was promoting it ie the magazine. I then posted it 1st on here and let a close pal in the industry know at firstmovies.com (now moviebeat) who added them on there.

People also seemed to value an actual physical ticket and make the effort to attend...screenings were pretty well attended (suppose it wasnt fair on people who had to especially travel into the city)

the online tickets dont seem bad but I cannot understand the allocations. My personal experience in Manchester since the early days has been ONE screening (before the online tickets) had to turn people away.... a handful were quite full,,,, and of late the screenings have been embarassingly empty ...a waste of time,,effort and electricity and some marketing people should get there @sses kicked.

I'm not answering to anyone making accusations on here...we all have our opinions and people can assume what they like,,,we live in a free world...have your say..

If anyone ever needs any help with free movies give me a shout and I'll try and advise/ help....share the love eh? too much ill feeling in the world

best wishes to you all...peace out

...my say is you're consuming far too much of something & that MSE is not the place for passing on 'Photoshopped' or otherwise manipulated tickets.

I just feel I have to come out on Mancunian's side here, despite the obvious regional bias.
His posts are friendly and helpful and if anyone doesn't go along with what he suggests they just have to ignore it, rather than act like some overbearing self-important board police.

If you click on labman's name and select "Find more posts by" you will see he has been policing the rimmel nail varnish thread earlier today. There is a definite "negative" air to his posts.

I like to think that his online persona is his alter-ego and that in real life he is actually a warm, kind and generous person.

Back to the thread subject... I'm really looking forward to seeing 28 Weeks Later this week. When I go to screenings, I look around and think that I'm surrounded by people who populate this website. You could be sitting next to one of us. So lets all smile and remember that we all in there for our favourite price FREE!!!!

It affects me when I turn up at a cinema & I can't get entry because it's full because someone has faked & distributed dodgy tickets....understand now!

Like any one's ever going to believe that has happened to you, they are NEVER full, even 300 had spaces left!!!!

Extremely well said!! It's time we started talking about screenings and discussing them with likeminded people, not having arguments about stupid things which are out of our control. If Mancunian wants to do this, no amount of negative posts are going to stop him so we may as well stop with the constant insults and threats to report to crimestoppers!! I mean, seriously, how much time do you really have on your hands?!!

On a more positive note, I'm so looking forward to seeing 28 Weeks Later tommorrow, am a bit disappointed Danny Boyle hasnt directed it as I loved the first one, but Total Film has said that passingthe directorial cap over was a good move so hopefully it'll be good!!!! Not sure that the increase in the budget will have had a good affect on the overall style though!!

Hi I was lucky enough to get tickets too see Babel in Sheffield on Monday night but when we arrived they were completely full!!! I will give the cinema full credit as they did offer my the chacne to see something else so we saw Night at the museam. FAB FILM!!
I was wondering if this happens often as if it wasnt for the cinemas kind offer that would have been a whole load of organising (for me with kids ect) for nothing.

I've been to 4 screenings in the last year that have been absolutely full.
Cinema staff have come in and asked people to move up where there has been a row with 2 empty seats but not adjacent to each other, so that a couple could sit together on several occasions. They've also counted the last few empty seats and called out to staff outside saying something like " you can let another 7 in and you'll have to send the rest home"

    IT HAPPENS !!!!

Saw it last week as previously posted.
Including travel to and from the cinema, it was a waste of 3 hours.
If I paid to see it I'd have been wanting a refund !
