  • Me too! I've been to four screenings that were completely full - you had to feel for those who were told to go home despite having tickets. Also on two other occasions everyones id was checked against a 'list' of people with tickets and it was pretty embarassing for the 3 couples who had to watch from the sidelines as they were openly accused of having 'fake' tickets and then told to leave.

Anyway, as with everything else, photoshopping of tickets will go on and I really can't be bothered trying to tell people not to do it. For the rest of us, just try to be at the screening a little earlier to ensure that you don't miss out after going all the way to the cinema. And if you do, as a result of the cinema being full (and YES, it does happen, as I've already mentioned, so don't get your knickers in a twist) just calmly talk to the manager and explain your genuine disappointment at having tickets and not getting to see the film and he/she may be generous enough to let you see another film instead. They don't HAVE to do that but it's worth a shot.

Does it really matter if you don't manage to see every single screening available? Just wait to get tickets for the next freebie film like the rest of us?

On another note - I have to say, although it was pretty damn scary and perhaps a little predictable, I rather enjoyed '28 Weeks Later' (you really should have already seen '28 days later' before seeing this film, although it isn't totally necessary). Paradise Lost was much better, scare-factor wise, probably because it is more plausible and probably does already happen in the real world.

Goodbye Bafana was quite a good movie with a number of familiar faces including joseph fiennes (ralph's brother) and diane kreuger (from Kingdom Of Heaven). Those of you who liked Catch A Fire, screened earlier this year, should like this film based on the true story of a prison officer who spent more than 20 years guarding Nelson Mandela on Robben Island.

Hope everyone's got their tickets for Paris Je T'aime, they appear to be going like hotcakes ;) Only 2 left after I collected mine.

Enjoy 28 Weeks Later - but if you have a pacemaker, don't go and see it. Oh, its also worth mentioning that if you are going to the Vue West End screening you'd be better off taking photo id with you. The last couple of times we went there for a freebie screening they were checking everyones id and a few people were turned away at the door. Lots of people had huge spats with the cinema staff too but to no avail. Just be aware of it.

    Have a lovely day.
    :j:j Please blow me a kiss if I have helped you.:j :j

I've never been asked for photo ID there. Guess I've just been lucky ... either that or because I look all sweet and innocent :D

all points noted... glad we're discussing screenings again and not making personal comments and unfounded accusations.

Due to going to screenings from the old days - early 2000's my mindset is that they should over allocate and put a warning on tickets. The amount of local people I have arranged tickets for who then can't even be bothered for a 'free film' is a complete and utter waste.

people will do what they like and the best thing is to use your common sense - if you're doing something you shouldnt thats up to you and if u get caught out take it on the chin... not like its a major crime - I'd just plead insanity or rant about some Computer error...wouldnt be that bothered.

The extra word of mouth for the movie / studio which is the whole point... theres something in it for them! we're doing them a favour!

I have a lot of friends on here who have seen a film they otherwise wouldnt have been able to...making a few people happy..cant be a bad thing in this mad world today. You always get a minority of 'curtain twitching' , jobsworth's... thats life

If we're really being jobsworth I suppose we could say that people shouldnt post the screening details on Forums,,, you should wait for your notification from the official source.... ie .. email from SeeFilmFirst. Maybe members of MSE have an unfair advantage,,,, than your average joe who checks his email when he gets home from work....not some MSE geek online 24/7 (me!?) What do we all think?

    peace and love

I went to see 28 Weeks Later this evening, and I have got to say, WOW!!! My flatmate hated it, said it had no storyline and that she was bored, but I thought it was brilliant!

The shots were great, the camera work was brilliant, and the music was fabulous, I'm very glad they brought back the theme from the first movie. I must say, they did a really good job of keeping the style of the first, despite the obvious budget increase.

The opening was my favourite part, including the way they brought the film title into the typed info they were giving, that was great.

I'm keen to hear what other people thought, I am a wannabe film maker so I dont know if I was watching it too much for the techical things that I thought were done really well and not paying attention as a 'normal' viewer may have done.

    Another Time Out Screening for you guys;

    Jindabyne

    When:
    18:30 on Thu May 17 2007

    Where:
    Odeon Covent Garden

On an annual fishing expedition in isolated high country in Australia, a group of men discover a girl’s body in the water. The men decide to delay reporting their find until their trip is completed, but this decision precipitates tensions within their home town of Jindabyne, and the wider Aboriginal community, most notably between one of the party, Stewart (Gabriel Byrne), and his American wife Claire (Laura Linney).

What follows is a compelling and complex tale of doubt, anger, shame and responsibility, and an incisive look at the sexual and racial climate of contemporary Australia. The follow up film to director Ray Lawrence’s global masterpiece Lantana, the award-winning Jindabyne is one of most captivating movies to come out of the country for many years.

A 'normal' viewer would have 'normally' paid with their hard earned & I think that has to to be taken into consideration when you listen to what people people think. It was an 'ok film' when it was a free viewing, can soon turn to 'if I paid for that I'd want my money back'!

I, too, went to see 28 Days Later this evening. The screen was RAMMED!

Then again, it was a Times screening so people are bound to show up if they've paid £2 for the paper and £2 for the phone call :p

Anyhoo, the film was AWESOME!!!! Much better than the first one.

There was also a woman behind me who was clearly bored by the whole thing and started to make sarcy comments towards the end, she was hilarious!

If you're on here, thanks :D:D:D
