I, too, went to see 28 Days Later this evening. The screen was RAMMED!

Then again, it was a Times screening so people are bound to show up if they've paid £2 for the paper and £2 for the phone call :p

I went too but mine was just over half full, so no worrying about getting in. Yep, loads of 'Times' freebie people ('freebie' maybe not the right word like Toxic Bunny says?:D ) cos when I handed my booking conf printout, it was the only email ticket, all the rest were those Times pages.

Hey, dunno about everyone else but there was tighter security than an airport! We got frisked and not only did we have to turn our mobiles off but we couldn't take them in with us! Found this strange cos we saw Painted Veil at the same cinema back in April without the bouncer treatment. (Ok admittedly, not the same type of film!) The security blokes (v friendly guys) said it's cos the film hasn't come out yet - but it comes out in 2 days doesn't it anyway? Think I've read about people having to leave their mobiles before but didn't know it was a regular occurence - my boyfr was a bit peeved cos he's on call, shouldn't they warn people in the t&cs if this is going to happen?

Hmm maybe we just looked dodgy...?!
    I hope I didn't brain my damage...

Yeah i got that to but when i got there no one checked us and they told us to go straight to the screen which was only half full (which suprised me, Its the first time i had been to a free screening and expected it to be jam packed).

I have to agree with toxic bunni the film was alot better than the first one.

No one checked at the Vue Leicester Square, though there were some bouncer-type blokes!

There was also someone filming when we left the screen and a woman was giving out a short questionnaire for us to fill in.

I kept the black pen she gave me :D

I went with my 18 year old son. He thought it was the most disturbing film he'd ever seen. I thought it was the most relentlessy violent film I'd ever seen - it was like a test to see how much gore you could cope with.

At the end, I think the audience was in shock. There wasn't a peep out of them all way through. It was like that scene from the Adams family Values where the Adam's kids put on that gory play, and you see the audiences faces.
The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

Of course the film is going to be violent!

Did people think this film was going to be like Mary Poppins or something?

The film is rated 18 for a reason!

Ha, totally agree with that, considering what the first one was like, I think we were pretty well informed what kind of violence it was going to take on! I don't actually think it was THAT bad, a lot of the violence wasn't completely shown, as there was a lot of movement in the camera and it didn't show some things properly. I defintely don't think it was as good as the first one, nothing would beat that, but they definitely set it up for a third, cannot wait!!!

Violent - or just containing violence for the sake of it?

I've no problem with violence in the film as long as it's part of the film - and in this case it is. But it wasn't just me that thought the film went over the top with scenes of violence.

The director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, seems to have gone overboard in what he wanted to portray.

I suspect the film will become a cult hit, esp in the US/Europe.

But, I do wonder to what extent films should be allowed to depict disturbing imagery.
