have you done this before?? just want to make sure it works in case i need to di it in the future...thanks

Yep usually the tickets are in my name, but whenever I can't go just change my name to my girlfriends and she uses the tickets.
  • cineworld cardiff- the illusionist tonight,
got there and they said the film was not on,
offered us to go into anyother film but all had just started (6pm )- wanted to take the tickets off me--scam!!

Actually, I went there too, and they were very helpful. There were 3 films starting at around 6.30 including Hot Fuzz, Notes on a Scandal and Hannibal Rising. And then more after that! I was quite happy to get to see another film as I already have seen The Illusionist (great film)

Not the first Problem Experienced at this Cinema with Free Preview Screenings Especially Momentum Screenings

It Happened with the Bobby Screening a Few Weeks ago...Movie started 30 Mins Early. Some people were let in & others offered Free Tickets to other films at the Cinema...depending on what time they arrived.

Last time they Blamed Momentum ,and it was Clearly Not them (see Post #28 on Page 2 of this discussion Thread).... who did they Blame tonight?

It is Very Nice of them to offer Free Tickets but to some that is Just Not Convenient

It will be interesting to see if Next Monday Nights (26th)Screening of the Illusionist at Cineworld Cardiff actually takes Place.

I went to cineworld cardiff last night as well to see a preview of the illusionist and was actually quite pleased that they weren't showing it as I didnt fancy seeing it all that much....my friend who came with me wanted to though and because I'd found the tickets and was originally going to just 'give' them to her she asked if id like to go with her. Who was i to turn down a free film, even if it didnt look all that good, so I said YES!

We arrived about 6:10pm and when we asked what screen the film was being shown in were told to wait in the foyer until 6:30 and then we'd be let in. At about 6:20pm a security guy came along and explained that they didnt actually have the disk to show the illusionist and said there'd been some kind of mix up with momentum not sending them the disk beforehand.....

He was extremely helpful and apologised for any inconvenience that had been caused by offering us the chance to see another film free of charge. We were then led downstairs to the ticket purchasing area, allowed to jump the queue and exchanged the printout for the illusionist for 2 free tickets to see music and lyrics.

I couldnt have been more happier as I've been wanting to see this film for the last week. He was extremely helpful and kept apologising for the mix up, wasted journey etc

Did anyone else receive this level of customer service last night? i couldnt fault the poor chap who ahd to go around explaining the same thing to everyone who had turned up for the free screening.....

That's really nice of them! Not as bad as it sounds then. It did seem a bit odd that there were no films on after 6pm at all!!?

Yes as I did say in my post this is very nice and was obviously convenient for Some especially those who did not really want to see The Illusionist... but not convenient for everybody! as has been pointed out by others on this discussion thread ...Perhaps a Couple of Free Tickets to use at Anytime would have been a Better offer as I am sure there were people there that could not have attended one of the Other screenings on that night for whatever reason.

As I said last time they Blamed Momentum when it wasn`t their Fault ...Was It Momentums Fault this time?...it could have been ...but there is a chance it wasn`t.

I agree the level of service was Good ...and it was on the Night of the Bobby Screening ...but on that night it had to be ...as it was the Cinemas Fault the Problem occurred.

This isn't said often enough so can I offer my thanks to heatherw_01 for keeping the offers thread to a manageable length - I'm not sure I'd show her restraint when faced with all the 'why can't I do what I want where I want without any regard for the site rules' posts - well done heather.

Just curious but does anyone know how or where I can find tickets for preview of Mr Bean's holiday? Was advertised earlier on telly and said previews would be 23rd & 24th March. Is it too early at the mo to be looking for them? Any help would be appreciated as me & kids love Mr Bean. :rotfl: :rotfl: Thanks kal2578

  • I think those previews are general ones - as in it is released a few days earlier in certain cinemas but you have to pay to see it.
