I'm sure I saw this film had been given 4 and 5 stars by some reviewers. I obviously missed something, but honestly don't think I could stand to sit through it again in the hope of spotting it the second time round.
With its excellent attention to detail I think i might pay to see it soon...
Yeah it was given high acclaim by many reviewers but I think as had been said there were misconceptions that can ruin it.... People seeing Owen Wilson might expect a film like The Wedding Crashers but its worth recalling that he's been in all of Wes Anderson's films...
Like I said I didn't really get Tenenbaums but its acclaim was almost as high so I'll give it another look. Anyone who's seen that can then decide if they want to see Darjeeling - I don't agree that it's the type of film only a minority like to see...you see its something called an original film which doesn't follow a formula.
Incidentally did anyone notice that the mother's expressions when talking to her children were just like owen wilson's talk to his brothers...
Guys, to test my theory stated briefly a few posts ago, who here that saw darjeeling liked it/didn't and how many brothers or sisters do you have?Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense

Wolverine you've got me interested i've got 2 brothers.
Sometimes I just wish that I watched these films on my own 'cos when you've got someone with you, it distracts me and i'm sitting there thinking are they getting it as much as me? are they enjoying it? when really i just want to get on and enjoy the film. I'm so glad that no one walked out of the cinema when I was watching it as it would have really spoilt it, I didn't hear anyone make any negative comments.0 -
I hope your youngest was old enough to see a '15' - altho I could not fathom why the movie merited a 15 - unless that was due to 'part1'

Like other posters I stuck it out to the bitter end. I have never been so tempted to walk out of a film so much as with this one.
I fully related to the concept of the relationship between the brothers, and the angst re their parents, but.
IMO, the film couldn't make up it's mind what it was trying to show. One minute humour ( but not that funny!) the next beautiful cinematography. The contrast between the 'native' funeral, to the 'Christian' service. the obsession with the cost of everything, and yet throwing it all away. Celebrating life, but the inevitability of death.
Yes I got it, but it felt more like a test of spot the meaning/relationship/juxtapostion etc, rather than an enjoyable viewing experience.
First mini-film was........heaven knows, but didn't Natalie Portman look good with short hair !
Best thing about this was the fantastic travelog of India.:p

It's so obvious!
Do you think anyone would not spot this? well actually, thinking about it, maybe yes.
Liked the soundtrack too.
And I was singing 'Les Champs-Elysées' all the way back home
not quite sure why they chose this song though0 -

I am afraid there is no code this time. You have to be a member of the Eros Reward Card and sign in with your username and password and that qualifies as applying for tix. You also need to have credit on your card to be considered. I just applied for tickets, let's see whether I get any.Reclaimed thanks to this site:

Claim 4 tickets:
