Just had to pop in to say,
JACKIEO Your post was so wonderfully descriptive, I can see your Mum looking at the sky and shaking her fist in the air when she said that. I'm not suprised you still miss her.

UOLYPOOL, As the saying goes : softly softly catchy monkey. You must be so pleased that DD has deceided that she is happier with you than anywhere else. That's because you are a brill Mum so don't forget that. Your Son in a shining example of your parenting, he sounds like a lovely lad. Good on you, consider your back patted. :A

YIPEEEEE I WON IT Fantastic - I won a snowsuit for DS1 - just looking for one for ds2 now and a jacket for me - all from ebay - and hoping to pay almost nothing. Have also bought two large (but nice) lego sets - one for each of the dss for christmas. Will put it away when they come. Am desperately trying to regain control over my house - so have written out a 5 day plan. VERY pleased with myself as I have done all the things that I set myself today.

Warm weather is fantastic - I've managed to get loads of washing dry plus 2 duvets and I've washed 4 pillows - belonging to the boys so needed a good scrub! Tonight whilst the boys are in bed I'll be doing 1/3 of my ironing (as well as school uniform for tomorrow). Then will be another early start no doubt - so will be collapsed in bed well before 9. Love and hugs to those feeling blue.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Not been around much - too much going on here. Have just surfaced from doing bits in the garden and finishing all my typing jobs. Off on holiday for a week on Sat. What to pack? tee-shirts and sandals will be no use if the weather goes back to normal, but cord trousers and jumpers will be like living in a sauna if this weather keeps up. Layering is the answer I know but I don't do clever dressing very well. Perhaps if I lost 3 or 4 stone, but that's not going to happen before Sat. Or anywhen!
uolypool: How absolutely lovely! At least you now know that your DD is with you because she wants to be, and she knows, (and you can always point it out to her if the occasion demands) that she has a choice. How wise you were not to react in any way when she left home.
sistercas: "sucking eggs" is a lovely book, but I think all those wartime books about how people managed have a lot to teach us.
jackieO: I have worked out that we are much of an age, and all of us who were brought up in those days of war and austerity have everything OS ingrained in us. Not only that but we are supremely grateful for whatever modern appliances we choose to use. I will never forget the excitement of my first WM and the 2nd hand fridge I acquired after I had been married several years. I don't think we take anything for granted.(sound of violins).

    Be good while I'm away.
    Love you all
