back from the dentists and only a clean and polish so thats not too bad.He said my chopper were in very good nick and I only need a check up every 9 months so no more dentist until 29 june next year Yippee a bit more money saving ,although he did say if I had a problem just to ring up .I've only had a clean and polish for the past two years so perhaps I shall shuffle off this mortal coil with all me gnashers intact. One good outcome from very little sugar as a child because of rationing maybe. Although I am a bit paranoid when it comes to teeth and I have been taking my tribe of lads since they were tiny and they have no fear of dentists at all ,in fact they all have pretty good choppers which I'm pleased about .its far too warm at the moment for comfort and I have the fan on but I guess its cheaper than having to have the central heating on at least
Taplady sorry your having a bit of a 'down day' annivesarys can been a bit upsetting ,try to think of the good times and how you were lucky to have him for so long I lost my lovely Mum when I was 16 and thats well over 56 years ago but I still think of her especially when I do something that she taught me to do around the house or when cooking.I look back and wonder how she coped with three children and her OH off to war and bombs falling around her ears in the east end of London yet still managed to keep going .She was made homeless twice because of the air-raids and the second time took it a bit personally and apparently rushed into the street shouting "you didn't get me that time either":)A real tough feisty little Scot who went 5 foot nothing and rarely weighed over 7 stone wet through, but was shot through with steely determination for her home and children. All of us have sad days and some more than others but I always try to think of the good bits and forget the rest.
Well time for lunch I think as its warm I think a tuna salad will do me I am having Spag Bol at DDs tonight as its a parents night for one of my DGS's so I'll be looking after the others for awhile. Hope everyones day is good
Take care JackieO xx0 -
morning!
been a bit lax reading and posting here - just been a bit fed up with everthing - work and home, not sure why but trying to give myself a kick up the backside!:D I know there's a lot of people with real problems to cope with.
It must be in the water, I've felt fed up for previous weeks. Take it easy, your mojo will return. Sending you some very large hugs xxxx
DD not going to school this afternoon as she's full of cold and was running a slight temp this morning. Going to try and persuade her to have a wee nap in a minute. Can tell she's not well as she's not hoovered up our pasta lunch! And she refused breakfast. Normally she eats and then cadges mine too
Not doing too much rushing around today as its just too hot. Yesterday was killer and I felt so sorry for poor H who was doing his CBT in full sun  He passed though which is the main thing but the poor sod was knackered by the time he got home at nearly 7pm.
Anyway need to sit and sort out finances, completely forgot about the car tax due tomorrow :eek::eek: Oh joy a £245 to fork out on top on everything else we've spent this month
Anyway enough moaning, ain't gonna change the situation.
Not sure about tea as I am out tonight.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.
Hugs to Lou and Jackie O.
Redruby glad your dad seems to be thriving
Flutterby - sorry to hear about your colleagues father xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi Everyone
A busy work day for me but I just wanted to check in because I want to get in the habit of it - it keeps me on the straight and narrow!
I have done some cleaning/tidying before work and am planning to write a list of ingredients tonight for a cake that I want to make at the weekend. We moved recently so I was running down my baking stock but now don't have much in the way of ingredients when I need them! I will then get the required stuff tomorrow and bake at the weekend.
I need to get petrol today and some headache tablets but that's all.
Have a great day everyone.
p.s. Can I ask what SOTD means? I have been wondering!0 -
Afternoon ladies, what a lovely day weather wise, washing out woofer walked bread pudding in the oven, chicken stripped ready for chicken salad tonight.
Couldn't sleep last night was to warm so caught up on a couple of hours this morning. Raring to go now. Dd txt me this morning to ask if she can come home:j:j. I said of course but we will need to talk about bounderies and rules, she said yes tht was fine.So no rules at her dads hasn't worked. I spoke to her dads girlfriend and she said that her dad just let her get on with things and didn't have a bedtime or anything nd she couldnt cope with it.I knew I had rules for a reason;);).So she is coming home tonight from school and her dads g/f is going to drop her stuff off after she finishes work.Thank you all for the advice you all so willingly gave.:)
Ds2 phoned me to tell me he had done his washing and one of the girls he shares the kitchen with has ironed it for him, so he took her for a thank you drink last night. He has really settled in now it seems, his student loan and grant got paid in this morning and we have worked out that he will be left with £90 a week after everything has been paid out (including food).:eek: Gosh he has more than I do;). So he is going to put £30 into his savings account each week so its there if he needs it but so he will have money during the hols etc, my methods have paid off, and he has been offered a job in one of the pubs in town 3 nights a week and he gets fed those nights there as well as it has a resteraunt (sp) in it.
Going to pop into town this afternoon to pick up some fruit from he market, Will take woofer with me as the meat man saves a big bone for him every weekPaul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -

Hello x
Taplady - so sorry that you are feeling sad today x
Redruby - I hope your dad continues to eat well and recouperate. Im so pleased that you have somewhere reasonable for him where you are all happy. Fingers crossed that he continues to settle x
Im back from shopping. We are doing Operation Christmas Child so had a mooch around the large Tesco looking for bits and pieces. However I really hate shopping in person and much prefer online. DD was in one of those moods too so it was quite a stressy experience:eek::eek::eek:
Really hot here today and i have my summer dress and sandals on today xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
