Fischer Storage Heaters

Never looked at the Trust Pilot page for Fischer, but that is shocking. I don't think I'll ever use TP again. There is clearly some kind of abuse going on there.
I have also never notice that TP seem to have made it near impossible to jump to the 1 star reviews. One thing I love on Amazon is the 5 star vs. 1 star review system they have.
EDIT: Can see a few of these:Fischer-Future Heat reported this review for breach of Trustpilot guidelines. We are currently assessing the review in accordance with our reporting processes.0 -
This thread has been of great help to me. I have (7 to 8 years old) night storage heaters, and they work fairly economically, but some 'spam' came through my letter box about these 'wonderful German heaters'....and I am so glad that I looked in MSE before even sending for the brochure. (Which I shall not be sending for now!)
Thanks for all the genuine posts0 -
i was only prompted to look for this after being coerced into buying 2 of this company's heaters. If it had all seemed fair and reasonable I wouldn't have bothered looking up the web but when it became clear that the salesperson wasn't going to take no for an answer and I was keen to get rid of them I signed up to buy 2 thinking it is probably a good product after all. Given my payments haven't started I wonder if I can now decline? I may get a response from one of their salespeople as they appear to be great at responding particularly on trust pilot whatever the heck that is. Anyway it would be good to get sound advice from any fair and reasonable people out there. Yep this lot Fischer are sharks0

I wonder why the people who run this site have not got onto this? Buying these heaters is the polar opposite of MoneySaving...
A lot of people are bamboozled by electric heating - I've often heard people say their electric heating is really 'efficient' - yes, it efficient, but that doesn't mean cheap.0 -
With people living longer, the UK is set to having a lot of elderly people. A lot of money to be made by misleading them. Hence you will see a lot of new companies opening. Some existing companies have already set up new companies selling a different model of German heating. So its time for the UK government to bring in new laws to protect the old from people out there whose only intention is to scam the OLD. Prime minister Mr David Cameron are you listening. I personally do not believe any of these heaters are MADE in Germany. Assembled may be.0

Please treat TrustPilot reviews with a huge pinch of salt, especially if a company boasts about its reviews. Some firms pay TrustPilot to only permit reviews from customers who have been issued a "reference number". The firm can then be careful to only give these numbers to customers it knows are satisfied, hence ensuring good reviews.
I fell foul of this once when a dodgy company exploited this feature of TrustPilot to lure people in with great reviews and then ripped us off. Myself and others pleaded with TrustPilot to turn off the reference number requirement to allow us to leave reviews. They eventually did, and overnight the company's reviews were decimated by dissatisfied customers.
As an experiment I just tried leaving a dummy review on TrustPilot for Fischer - and was immediately asked for my reference number. I take this as a huge warning sign.0 -

Sadly there are number of installers selling these fancy looking yet ordinary performing rip off heaters. Elkatherm, Wibo etc. One supplier in the West Country that states these heaters that run on daytime electricity will save electricity compared to storage heaters (of course they don't, all resistive heaters are 100% efficient and peak rate power is more expensive) even has a Which trusted trader award no less. I wonder if all the satisfied customers are really satisfied when they see how much they cost to run? You could fill your house with cheap convection heaters and thermostats and they would work just as well.
They even have a bogus "independent" review site. Whichheater dot co dot uk
How do they get away with it?0
