Probably not what you want to hear, but I am a size 10...:o I have found that becoming DFW hasn't really made any difference, sorry!
I eat a lot better than I used to, loads better in fact thanks to OS.

i'v done the oppositewinkle1 wrote:I hope this doesn't offend anyone, or it's not too much of a personal question but has anyone else put on weight since becoming a DFW? I suppose it's due to cancelling exercise classes, eating food so it doesn't go off or go to waste or sitting on the computer on MSE rather than going for walk so you're not tempted by the shops!
LOL!
Anyone else feel like this?
granted i'm a big girl and need to lose weight anyways but since i'v started sorting my debts i'v then decided to tackle the weight issue too.
since last sept i'v lost a stone and a half, and kept it off
.... over xmas as well

I suppose its all about planning meals so you dont end up eating food that's going out of date just for the sake of it, and to get out and about doing some exercise that's free, like walking.
just wanted to point out i'm not overweight, just over the weight i would like to be... which isnt good MSEing as it means buying clothes in a bigger size!
need to nip it in the bud now!***PROUD TO BE DEALING WITH MY DEBT***

Like that makes a difference - you've had a sheltered upbringing...

First I got my head around the fact that I needed to lose a couple of stone and really got to grips with that,
then it seemed that when I was in control of my weight, and down to my goal, I felt the need to get in control of my finances.
So my head has obviously had a lot to get in control of over the past year or so but now I feel more or less in control, and I like that feeling so I want to stay there.
The fact that I can only afford to eat dust does help
Dust? Anybody?

MY weight hasnt gone up, i have always been fat, but have just been diagnosed with IBS, hubby thinks its a load of toss. So i need to eat healthy. Maybe its cheaper to buy fresh stuff, we spent over £50 in Tesco last night on fridge stuff and tesco healthy ready meals for work.
Any IBS tips giddykipper ?
Oooooh well for me I need to stay away from wheat ... that's the main one (and I soooo lurve pasta) ...has your gp not given you a list of 'trigger' foods or some medication?
You can buy some good things over the counter now - have a word with your pharmacist if your gp hasn't prescribed anything.
Other than wheat, my main triggers are:
too much dairy
garlic
coffee
alkeeehol
lots of starch all in one go
Peppermint tea is supposed to be very good for the cramps ....... but I've never really used it much (dont like it).
I find that just staying away from my trigger foods stops the bloating which in turn stops the cramping.
Its just a case of working out what affects you really.

Do it my way and be an fitness instructor for a living and you can have both!
I am a class fitness instructor so not only do I get paid to exercise (nice) I get free access to gyms and their showering facilities (lovely) and I keep in shape (bargain).
In fact for all you DFWs out there. If you want to earn and keep fit you can teach part time and earn a better hourly rate than you can in any pub or restaurant.0 -
'sniff'
you can go off people really quick ' sniff'
yes I've put on nearly 2 stone since my lightbulb moment - eating myself through the fattening stuff in my cupboards etc.
I eat far too much bread, pasta, potaoes, rice, cous cous etc.
I used to buy more expensive low fat stuff for me and ordinary for the kids and thats had to stop, as has the extra protein to make up for the lesser amount of carbs I had.
never mind
oh and a little earning to those of you who are slim - I was a size 8 until I hit my thirties - I have now doubled my weight since then due to thyroid and mobility issues. I can happen to anyone!!!
