are their any female dfw's who are also slim?

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, or it's not too much of a personal question but has anyone else put on weight since becoming a DFW? I suppose it's due to cancelling exercise classes, eating food so it doesn't go off or go to waste or sitting on the computer on MSE rather than going for walk so you're not tempted by the shops!

LOL!

Anyone else feel like this?

  • Yep - I feel the same!

I'm also a comfort eater so when I get down about things - I raid the cupboards!!

I feel like currently I can't eat the way I want to eat because its too expensive and therefore get by on potatoes/pasta/rice dishes that don't do my ibs any good either! Result - one bloated/peed off woman!

OK I'm not huuuuge - a stonestone and a half off would do the trick nicely - but its SUCH hard work when there's so much else going on at the moment as well!!

Dieting/exercising/looking after myself have taken a back seat!

  • i have to agree about sitting at the computer ad not moving cuz thats what ive done since finding this site but ive tried to equal it out a little by walking to my local co-op(10 mins away) instead of the spar (which is just around the corner) so ive lost pounds(well ounces) and gained pounds(well pennies) but if i do it more often then it will be better. i was supost to turn this computer off at 2pm as i still need to finish the house work.
i have an intermittant connection so sorry if i dont reply straight away

    I looked twice to make sure it wasn't a chat-up line... ;)

Get ye across to the Old-Style board. There you will learn to make healthy and low calorie meals very cheaply.

Jesus feeding the five thousand has nothing on the people there - in fact it only gets mentioned because he did it without a slow-cooker.

What do you call big? I am the same size as I was a year ago but a couple of stone heavier than I was 2 years ago. I am still a size 10-12 though. It's my busy job and running around after 3 kids!

Sorry to rub it in, but I'm a size 8.

I'm lucky that I'm naturally small but haven't found that being an MSEer has affected my weight. I go to dancing classes locally, cheap ones of course and I try to stay active without being a member of the gym. If anything, my diet has improved now that I'm meal planning and thinking carefully about the shopping I buy.

Sorry, I know thats not what you were wanting to hear but its true. I've found that the renewed motivation I have from taking control of my finances has seeped into other areas of my life.
