You can find all you want to know about Sky broadband at http://www.skyuser.co.uk/
Its a great site with lots of hints tips and user experiences.

....and yes I'm on Sky Broadband, 8mbps for £5.00 a month.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

the broadband depends on how far from ypur telephone exchange you are ect and also its limited to a monthly allowance of 40GB per month.

The deal is good if you only use the phone in the evenings/weekends and are a light user - because you can easily use up the 40GB usage in a few days if you wanted to.

But beware its UP TO 8MB [depends on the distance the telephone line has to travel - and its not in a straight line] and can be from anything up to 8MB fluctuating.

Real cost is £26 to sky £whatever line rental to BT and any calls you make in the day [which of course can be really cheap if you hunt for ie codes to put in before you dial type of thing.

I'd like to go for the £5mth deal and migrate from bulldog,

Now I realise I have a bulldog phoneline and need a BT phone line so...

Rang SKY they say I have to have a BT phoneline BEFORE they can do anything (pre checks etc..).. Is this correct or is there a way of migrating my bulldog phone to BT and on the same day my broadband to sky?

I'd rather not be without the internet for longer than a week or two..

Anyone out there who migrated from bulldog and can tell me what happened?

    Thanks

No brainer for me really - I went for just 2 packages (£15 a month) and the mid broadband (£5). This comes to only £4 more than I am paying for 512kb Broadband, plus I get Sky and a wireless router! I also went for the free weekend and evening calls offer, so should save a few more quid with this way as well.
  • also check what lenght of contract you are set up with - i was with plus.net and in a 5 yr ...y yes 5 year contract...managed to escape to more reliable rarly any trouble ntl.
