If it had been a new car I could have taken it back to the garage and they would have sorted it out. With a computer you just have to hope there is a friendly, knowledgeable member of the forum to talk to.0

With my Kaspersky paid for AV expiring soon, I'm thinking about switching to a free one and have heard good things about Avira.
However when reading reviews I came across this....
Avira Free Antivirus lacks protection for email clients or Web browsers
Can somebody please clarify this for me please?
If it doesn't provide the above protection is there any point in downloading it?
Thank you.0 -
The link to Agnitum's Outpost really needs removing. Agnitum have posted the following message on their website at http://www.agnitum.com/:
In December 2015 Yandex acquired Agnitum software technology. These technologies will now be used to protect users of
Yandex Browser. As a result of the acquisition, Agnitum terminates direct and partner sales of the Outpost product line.
Agnitum will provide antivirus base updates, bug fixing and technical support until December 31, 2016.0 -
I have a fair decent laptop I use for simple workstuff that runs off XP and had been using AVG Free for antivirus for donkeys. Not the best I'm sure but never had any issues however I can now no longer update it and nothing on the net will let me downlaod an alternative. Is this it, Am I going to have to pay for another laptop even though this is pretty reliable for what I use it for. (Obvioulsy not an IT expert)0

I have just gone over to Kaspersky. It's free if you do online banking with Barclays. This is suitable for use with Windows XP. You can check different versions suitability by googling Kaspersky Windows XP0

You need to be an online banking customer to get the free Kaspersky so make sure you sign up for it first if you are not already. You then find it under 'offers'...Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Does anyone here know if the 90 day Kaspersky free trial (below) is legit?
e.g. http://www.spicytricks.com/tips/kaspersky-internet-security-2014-free-download-3-months
(I know the url above is for the year 2014, but the webpage is updated for 2017).
I was planning on joining Barclays for the free Kaspersky, but I have some concerns over how long it will take to open an account / register for online banking / for the license activation code to be sent out. I'm guessing this whole process will take longer than 30 days, and so the normal 30 day free trial wouldn't be sufficient?
I would be grateful for any guidance on the legitimacy of the 90 days free trial / the website linked above, and also the length of time it takes to go through Barclays' procedure for the free anti-virus.
TIA!0
