If you get a chance, tightperson, could you pm me with any tips? Or anyone else who has used Tesco Deals for Holidays, flights or Airmiles before?

My OH took one look at the Holiday Deals online and snorted that they were too expensive! I did explain about the deals vouchers covering most of it but his eyes began to glaze over.....as men do when women tell them stuff!

But we have a good few hundred quid of unconverted vouchers (I will have to check how much) and I wondered about Siblu. We are a family of 6 looking for a family holiday in Europe. Haven't got the brochures yet, should I just go and get Siblu/Cosmos brochures from the travel agent, choose a holiday then phone up for a Deals price, then phone again for a non-Deals price as a comparison?

Any info would be gratefully received as we've told the kids we're going abroad this year for the first time, we've got the passports and are raring to go!

I would look at the Individual Traveler brochures if I were you - they cover villas (mostly with pools) to rent in Spain, Portugal, France, Italy and New England (US). The great thing about this company is that you don't need to book your travel with them - leaving you to find your own cheap flights. Most of the other companies like Cosmos insist that you book a package including flights, which works our very expensive for larger families.

(Sorry - can't seem to get the link to work - probably as you have to log into your clubcard account first - just select 'holiday' in the deals section and scroll down the first page).

My family + my sister's family + our Mum (=10 people) have booked 2 weeks in a huge villa + pool in spain in peak season (August). It would have cost around £3000, but we had a combined total of around £2000 in deals (so cost us £100 per person). The smaller properties obviously cost a lot less than this - but may well be booked up now for peak season.

We have booked flights with Easyjet (£80 per person) and still need to do car hire (won't use Avis/Clubcard deals as their prices are ridiculous) - prob. costing £250 per family, so all in all we will spend about £1150 for our family of 5, which is what we usually spend on one week in a cottage in England or 10 nights in a Eurocamp type thing + self-drive in France.

  • Hello everyone

Im new to these forums and just wondered how i can maximise my tesco clubcard points? Im not a regular shopper at tesco as my nearest is quite a way away and i dont drive although i do shop at tesco home very often.

Any ideas on how i can get more points please i currently only have just over 1500?

I have quite a few extra points coupons, but just wondering do i have to buy these products to get the points? Also i might start shopping at tesco but find it more expensive than other supermarkets (2nd baby due in 4 weeks so money is tighter now!)....how do you manage to do your weekly shop and get a fair bit of money off?... Ive heard that people use money off coupons but do you have to buy those products aswell?

Sorry for all the questions...but im quite new to trying to save money.(silly me lol!)

    Thanks.

Hi Little Laura, seems your doing fine so far with not having a store near you, right, where do I start, most of the till spits you have to buy the product, with the exeception of a few (I know there is a pet food one on a £7 spend but haven't been lucky enough to get this). If you get some thing you won't use, (I have a faggot one which I defo won't use) I swap it over on paid to shop or loyalty points, or if its not going to well, I give it away on here, no point throwing it away. :rotfl:

    Coupons !!
are great they reduce your bill by loads, but I think Tesco's is clamping down on the usage a bit, usually I will only use £1+ coupons if I'm not buying the product but will only use one, but if i'm buying the products then I will hand them all over for the ones that I actually buy. There are some Quit vouchers and H&B (grab them if you see them) which if you do a good combination you can get the products for free but thats a whole new thread.

  • Thanks Lorraine, so i should always collect the coupons from magazines, flyers etc that say 50p off x, 20p off y etc?

I really am new to this lol!
