  • Thank you to WELSHY have read all (her?) posts and I think I understand about the H&B things now,Thanks to all - Every little (bit of info) helps

Thanks quick-learner for the mention - I do sign everything Welshy but also go by the name Michelle :D

I was just checking out the MFI website as I now have enough for the kitchen and the gas range cooker

MFI TIP - if you are planning to spend vouchers in store, check on-line first and print off your shopping list, in this current sale it is free delivery so the store matched it as I had the print out. It also helps to have your items listed in black and white when trying to haggle for a discount. Also if there is a special offer such as a free power shower but it is limited to one per household ask for one order to get delivered to an alternative address. And then and only then, when they are inputting your order, get your clubcard vouchers out. Happy shopping

    Many thanks Michelle,

Can you give me some advice, having read thousands of posts I am picking things up, but thought now, I think I understand the H&B vouchers would give them ago. (The ones I bought from ebay arrived today!!!) having read an earlier post thought I buy the same i.e

    2 x Aquafresh @ £2.99 BOGOF
    Colgate toothpaste 4 x £1.88 or 2 for £3
    Hair colour £1.04 (reduced)

    Total H&B £14.54

I did however buy a few other things to add to my basket

I sorted out before I left the vouchers put the £2.50 H&B on top mixed a couple of 50 points in , one £1.25 QK and £1.00 H&B.

Thought right give them over, and I even targeted a studenty looking guy thinking he wont take any notice, how wrong:o said he could only take 50 points voucher and £2.50, so I ended up out of pocket bought things really didn't need did also have a washing powder coupon and he gave me that back too??? What am I doing wrong!! everyone on here seems to get their shopping for half the price.

I need advice and you seem to an expert

  • Hiya quick-learner, all the coupon regulars and myself included always say coupon acceptance is a BONUS but not an automatic right. Some days everything is accepted and somedays nothing is scanned. Today you were just unlucky.

For example last week I went to a cashier, she scanned everything I gave her. The next day, the supervisor was walking past clocked the vouchers I was handing over, saved the transaction and swiftly walked me to the CS desk where she went through my receipt working out which vouchers she could take. In this instance like yourself it was only a £2.50 and 50 point voucher too.

It can be very hit and miss with vouchers, you weren't doing anything wrong, just simply your cashier was not voucher friendly. The H&B voucher do state on the back one per transaction so if they are going by the book that is correct.

Unfortunately, Tesco do not have a consistent policy on taking vouchers but as in my case the "majority" of the time I am lucky and I can save money.

  • Well I thought I was doing well with about 3800 points but that's positively paltry in comparison to some of you lot - how on earth do you do it? When you say "Before the scheme ends" do you mean the scheme ending in MFI or the scheme ending completely?
  • :T Thanks Welshy
This is all new to me, never used any vouchers/coupons before so a little daunting to say the least. Will 'try' again another day!!

Also whilst I was waiting at the checkout the lady in front did not have a clubcard and I actually plucked up the courage to ask if I could have her points and her reply was ' yes of course I'd rather them go to some use' :T well I nearly fell over, I have NEVER done that before, I suprised myself and got 33 points into the bargain:D I am a quick-learner!!!

  • Hiya - is there a quick way of finding out where to get these extra coupons from? When you say "coupons from mags etc" are they actually Tesco coupons or just any coupons that Tesco accept? I'm just not getting this am I!!

I think by reading the posts that MFI are withdrawing from the scheme, no doubt if I'm wrong someone will correct me

I think that is sort of correct ;) Tesco are dumping MFI I believe but it could be the other way round there are so many rumours. Also a big welcome quick learner, hope you have better luck next time, also if there is nothing that tickles your fancy at the moment the offers instore will be changing on the 6th so something more your taste might come along that you would like to save your vouchers for.
