well this is my best quarter ever, got 10700 points coming.
Used every till spit even if dont usually buy the product provided it is worth enough in deals as saving for a holiday. Member of all the clubs that give out points. Buy large items from tesco if competitive in price, rather than other stores. Use own bags (when I remember, rarely).
For the first time yesterday I bid on ebay for some till spits, but already outbid by someone who appears to be ready to pay more than the points are worth, must be desperate! Shan't bid again, thats mad.

Also whilst I was waiting at the checkout the lady in front did not have a clubcard and I actually plucked up the courage to ask if I could have her points and her reply was ' yes of course I'd rather them go to some use' :T well I nearly fell over, I have NEVER done that before, I suprised myself and got 33 points into the bargain:D I am a quick-learner!!!

OOh, I did this a couple of times recently...gets the old adrenalin pumping but have managed to pick up 340 points in 3 requests!!

Said thanks with a big grin of course and the checkout people had no problem with it.

Did feel for the last girl I did it with tho and explained to her how to get a club card and what benefits it had...checkout girl didn't bother!!

  • Many thanks Michelle,

Can you give me some advice, having read thousands of posts I am picking things up, but thought now, I think I understand the H&B vouchers would give them ago. (The ones I bought from ebay arrived today!!!) having read an earlier post thought I buy the same i.e

    2 x Aquafresh @ £2.99 BOGOF
    Colgate toothpaste 4 x £1.88 or 2 for £3
    Hair colour £1.04 (reduced)

    Total H&B £14.54

I did however buy a few other things to add to my basket

I sorted out before I left the vouchers put the £2.50 H&B on top mixed a couple of 50 points in , one £1.25 QK and £1.00 H&B.

Thought right give them over, and I even targeted a studenty looking guy thinking he wont take any notice, how wrong:o said he could only take 50 points voucher and £2.50, so I ended up out of pocket bought things really didn't need did also have a washing powder coupon and he gave me that back too??? What am I doing wrong!! everyone on here seems to get their shopping for half the price.

I need advice and you seem to an expert
I only ever buy things that I actually need or want and then that way if you come across an unwilling SA that won't take your coupons it is annoying but at least you don't end up with a basket full of items that have cost you a fortune when you didn't really want them in the first place. As Welshy says always treat coupon use as a bonus not an automatic right and then there will be less disappointment.

Don't know if this helps, but when I got my Wine Club mailing I had points vouchers including 100 points on French wine, 100 points on white wine & from another account 100 points on any wine. I bought one bottle of French white wine and got 300 points, (it was £5).

Oh and I've got 12,000 points.

I had 100 points for white wine, 100 points for French wine and 50 points for any wine - so I bought a mini bottle of Chardonnay for £1.48 and all the points scanned.

For Febs statement I have just over 17,000 points.

Cor wish I'd worked that one out, I bought a cheap bottle of lambrini (cheap girl) but the 100 points for white wine wouldnt work as they said it was sparkling perry, so I gave up and binned all my tokens! :-(
I have 4300 points and thought that was good. Never mind.
  • With all the excitement of the extension build (now up to 2nd storey) I just had a recount of my clubcard points across my accounts and as at the points cut off (Sunday) I had just over 40,000 at 40,127.

So I am expecting a nice sum of £1605.00 to spend at MFI together with the £500 I already have saved = £2,105.00 total.

On my shopping list is a gas range cooker (around £1,000) and the rest we will put towards a kitchen together with some cash from the extension fund.

All the bathroom, ensuite items, downstairs toilet and bedroom furniture have already been delivered or is expected on 28th March.

It is all rather exciting !!!

Wow - Well done Everyone! Didn't we do well........:T

On checking my points, they've now shot up to just over 40,000!

Not sure if this has shot up due to Tescos having added back on to my balance the £130 worth of vouchers I had converted but unused towards a holiday. Perhaps Welshy could assist by looking on her account to see if hers were added back on, bringing the balance up?

Can't wait to get the vouchers through and go shopping........

Also just noticed that MFI do flooring (many thanks to someone who posted this on another op) although it seems very expensive.
