    Hi LG,

I feel your pain! I have the lurgy at the moment too. Went to the doctors this morning and apparently I have a chest infection. Got some antibitotics so hoping to feel better soon. I HATE being ill!

I hope you are feeling better today.

Just been catching up on your diary and see that you are paying off £600 per month on your debt. That really is an incredible amount, on top of living etc and every thing else. Well done! Just imagine how quickly you will be able to save up once you have it cleared!

    Hey

Oh no, poor you. Hope you feel better soon, still not feeling wonderful, boss keeps telling me to go home but Im resisting. Just had lunch so if that settles OK Ill stay, otherwise I'll go to bed :(

Thanks, well recently its been between 500-600 due to xmas but the plan for 2012 is £600pm. I know, its so annoying to know I can pay off that much but really I wanna be saving it!!

  • Hi all,

Still feeling rough as. Going to give it an hour to settle or I'm going home. Payday tomorrow so here are this months stats:

    Current Debt £12,423.49
Paid off this month £582.34 last month was £479.78
7% of total debt now paid off
    NSD's since last payday: 6
NSD's in Dec so far 3/10 target by 31.12.2011
Days till army boy comes home: 11 :)

You all know I dont feel this month has been successful due to the DD stuff up which completely messed up my £10 a day routine HOWEVER, as kindly pointed out by you lot I did pay off £102.56 more than last month due to this. That money was budgeted for nights out and I managed to go to them all anyway so actually I did do OK! Lol! I just didn't like not having the security blanket of £10 a day and it made this month particularly stressful.

The direct debit for the Post Office CC should have gone out yesterday (so today) but when I logged onto my current account the money is still showing as available. So I logged onto the PO and they are showing they have received payment which is weird as its usually the other way round. I'll see if its gone out tomorrow and if not call them. The money is there so there's no reason it should be rejected.

    So looking forward to January:

We get paid early by being paid tomorrow making Jan a 36 day month. So I have budgeted £360 for my £10 a day budget.

Tomorrow I am finishing my xmas shopping and have budgeted £60 which I will withdraw in cash before I go. I have booked off tomorrow afternoon to do this and to also go to the council office to buy visitor parking permits for when army boy stays. These will cost about £20 but he'll pay me back when he gets here.

The balance on my Halifax credit card is £151.64. This is the credit card which I transferred the balance to a 0% deal from and it just left me £400 to clear. So tomorrow I will pay that and call them to cancel it! although the majority of the balance is to be paid off to the post office. I will be pleased when this account is closed as this was the first credit card I ever had and it's the one I have racked up all this debt on. I just used to transfer it off to a loan or 0% deal thinking that would solve it. Idiot.

As I mentioned the other day I am intending to save £110 for those various necessities but this month as I still have xmas shopping and 3 more xmas social to go to before New Year Im going to hold this payment off for now BUT with the aim that by the end of the month I save this back up through NSD's. So really, I should still have saved this money but I'm going to do it by the end of the month rather than the start just in case something goes wrong during the month.

Well done! Its a good idea to look at it this way, and focus on it rather than your overall debt figure, %age paid off, or your DFD. All of these can be daunting and de-motivating.
