I think it is fantastic that you are able to ride good horses, regularly and free of charge (especially in London) and it is great to have a something to aim for once you have you financial situation sorted out. The only reason I have been able to keep doing it is because I have made compromises elsewhere in my life (but not going to go on about that here). I'm sure that once you have your debt sorted out and have got into good financial habits you will have no problem fulfilling this dream. Good luck with it.
Your plans for 2012 sound good. I always think that looking forward is so important. Have you got any plans for upping your income? Although it may be difficult with working full time and your professional qualifications to be done.
Totally right! They do require compromise, so i bet you've worked really hard to keep yours. I am so lucky to ride how I do and its great fun, I'm hardly the next Mary King anyway so no need to spend all that money riding horses that just make me look good! haha I WISH!
I have been meaning to ebay for weeks just haven't had the energy when I have had spare time. I do a few surveys too but other than that like you say everything else seems to take up my time. Going to try and do a car boot in the new year too.Santander 0% £1,529.94

Well done London Girl, you are on the home straight now to surviving the Christmas social season on a budget! :j. I think you've done brilliantly well and are an real inspiration to anyone trying to balance a social life with debt busting.
Have a think back over the last few occasions and ask yourself if you would have had any better a time if you had blown £100 each time carrying on with clubs/drinks/taxis.
I'm another one that keeps meaning to ebay but never gets around to it.Wait until you've got the time and energy to devote to it. Ebay will still be there when you're ready!

Can't wait. My FM told me about an indoor car-boot market somewhere not too far from London so I'll look into this for us. I've got loads in my pile now!LondonGirl252 wrote: »I know every penny should go towards debt
I think you are looking at this a bit wrong. Every SPARE penny should go off your debt. All you are doing here is budgeting for things you will have to spend during the next year so that you don't have to resort to credit. Its perfectly within your new MSE ways! If you're really canny you can put this money in a high interest savings account too, get a bit of passive income. I'm making about £1.20 off the money that sits in my 'household bills' account in interest. Result!December 2005 TOTAL DEBT at its worst - [STRIKE]£20,596[/STRIKE]

Nearly there now!! Thank you that's really kind and you're right. No I don't think I would have had a better time if I had spent more money. I might have been a bit less stressed if I knew I had my £10 a day but that will be back to normal from Tuesday. At least i haven't resorted back to credit!Santander 0% £1,529.94

Perfect! I reckon I could about fill a car! haha
OK cool, lol I am a bit silly thinking I'd manage without those things. Those saves will be my lifesaver when something unexpected crops up I guess!
I went home via Mr S and picked up a few breakfast bits for this weekend so now I can't spend any more money this weekend. I don't need anything food wise and have no plans other than the flat meal on Sunday but FM1 is sorting that out.
Can't wait to post this months stats on Monday. I'm gonna spend the rest of the night playing with my snowball!!!Santander 0% £1,529.94

:rotfl:I have just pointed out to Mr Bloater that they are dangerous things to have in the fridge as they escape and attach themselves to someone's waistline.
This is a very good reason for keeping up the riding - it burns off calories.Miggy

Have played with my snowball and spreadsheet and now the spreadsheet incorporates the snowball rather than min payments. Having jiggled about I now have a more accurate DFD of 01.09.2013. I hope it will be sooner!
Also I realised one of the formulas was out so I'm a tiny bit better off than I thought!
Off to update siggy!

I'm avoiding Mr. S - far too expensive but judging by the time you went maybe you got a bargain or two? Hope you did...
Got to love the snowball. If I get my 'big giro' as well as my 'wee giro' I should have the LMB paid off on thursday so that's like 5 more days :A
