what I do sometims when I am bored - is literally MSE and find a board that I don't usually follow (but have some interest in) and just spend an hour or so reading. That is usually educational, and frequently makes me realise my problems are not so bad, and is a community that eases the boredom.
My favorite is motoring as there is always some nonsense going on (but not parking - valiant ragers against the (ticket) machine and all that, and we all a debt to them, but its a touch hardcore) -- If you were interested in new recipes try the Old Style boards - some splendidly cheap stuff there.
Great idea! I will do that, i can get lost in forums for ages, love it when you find a good "debate" hahahaSantander 0% £1,529.94

Hi all!
So buyer has upped his offer but it's still £15k below asking price so that will also have to be rejected. ARGH! Couldn't even afford to accept it even if i were prepared to take a hit.
It's 1 year today we broke up, can't believe it's all taken this long to get sorted. Kinda sad really but when i think to how i felt this time last year I am definitley in a better place.
Because I didn't manage to Big shop today had to buy brekkie and lunch from work which was £6.50 in total which is a pain. Doing big shop tonight so rest of meals for week will be sorted. Haven't heard from my pal re going out on Thursday, although it would be good to see him I'm not going to prompt him as happy to save the train fare and spends!
Hope Monday going well for everyone!

Hello LG,
So much can happen in a year and it's nice to know that you and your ex are still getting along ok while you get all of this sorted. Hopefully he'll have some good news regarding buying the flat. It's also positive that the people offering on your flat must like it.
Hopefully you'll hear from your friend about Thursday. My male friends message me 10 minutes before we're due to meet usually!
Have a great week.

Is it a positive sign that the buyer is upping the offer, shows they're serious and they did know what you wanted when you put the place for sale. I'm guessing the fact it's been on the market for a while is prompting them to put in a lower bid - I blame Phil and Kirstie!
And I'm glad that you can look back on the last twelve months and see how far you've come - you're such a survivor, you will only do better and better as time goes by.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Evening Team,
So the buyer decided not to come back with another offer, the agents seemed surprised we didn't accept which makes me think they'd suggested they put in a cheeky low offer to get a sale, at least they've got the message now we aren't budging from asking price.
Spoke to Ex after, he reckons in the next couple of weeks he'll have spoken to a mortgage adviser re his affordability for it, but he did mention he needed to think and make sure he wanted to stay in the area. Which is completely right for him but makes me a little nervous he's re-considering. It wouldn't surprise me, we did say if he doesn't buy it and we've no more interest by then, then we'll rent it out. So tomorrow I will do another version of my budget for the year based on that outcome. It would mean slower paying off of my debt but would mean we could re-fix the mortgage, cover the costs and let it sit and let the market recover and hopefully make some money off it in the future. Not my preferred option as we'd need to extend the lease and potentially replace the boiler but could be a lot worse.
Did my shop for the next few days tonight, came in at £18 for four/five fish days which I'm pleased with. Saved a fiver by swapping out lamb mince in tonights recipe for quinoa. It was delish, roasted peppers stuffed with tomatoey quinoa, veggies and topped with mozzarella. Made tonights sups and 3 lunches out of it.
Feel good for my rest day today, up early tomorrow for a 6:15am boxing mesh. Love beating up the punchbag!
Hope everyone had a good Monday, that's one day down!

If renting is more than a wish then I would start to make very real preparations for finding an agent (short of committing any money) and reading up on landlordly stuff (you know my suggestion about finding some other boards to read well the tenant and landlord ones are excellent) and you either need to be on top of yourgame or find a good agent or you could be even further in poor cash flow territory - may be better to give up a few % to guarantee a good service - remortgaging will be a stretch at 100% LTV and BTL mortgage might be more than you think.
definitely an option but needs some work
Plus - its easy to say wait till it recovers, and you would normally be right in the long run, but Brexit / and global economy are looming a bit larger so its going to be emotional. Sorry to hear its your break up anniversary - lets hope you don;t have to "celebrate" another one next year - I'm sure you won'tI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Good luck with the flat sale and congrats on getting your DF head firmly screwed back on.
I recommend reading a long diary that you don't know, seeing how the person changes their thinking over time. I can loose hours that way!
No way you could buy ex out and get a mortgage with a lodger in the other room? I presume £300k is too much? Just sounds like you want to stay in the area, maybe more than ex does?Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0
