London Socialite Sees The Light

  • Just got in from work..

My colleague mentioned about a sample sale for American Apparel that she went to last night and got some real bargains, last night in London tonight so I went along with xmas in my head...

Got 4 presents for the girls for £25, sweat pants etc but their quality is good and really cheap so quite chuffed that's 4 less presents to worry about and they sell in the shop for over £20 each - bargain!

Supposed to be taking my friend for drinks in the city tomorrow but I'll cancel I think. This debt wont get paid off by itself. Plus I tried to talk to her about this money thing today and ended up feeling pretty sh*t about myself, the bar is really expensive and I don't want to spend £20 on a bottle of wine. It's hard to manage the social aspect of this without either telling everyone the truth or them thinking I'm being funny with them.

Hoping this week ends better than it has started...

I know, the last few days I've been mainly giving advice to others. I'll try to find some time to do it tomorrow. Tonight is all about ironing work shirts. Yawn.

Lazy? Hell to the N.O.! :) Up until a couple of months ago we could just wear jeans and t-shirts to work and I never ironed... well, maybe once or twice a year if I had a wedding or a funeral. Now we have to wear 'business casual' which basically means shirts and trousers. Such a pain. I sit at a desk all day and no-one outside the company sees me. Didn't help with the finances either. Thank goodness for TK Maxx!

Oh that is a pain when you're used to casual, Im the same we have to wear business wear and I don't deal with anyone outside the business. It's such a pain! I do need to buy a couple more cardi's as I realised mine has a hole this morning! I'll hold off till xmas as it's something my Mum might like toget me as a present!

  • I have continued my bargain xmas shopping this morning...

I bought 2 personalised aprons for my brother and his live-in girlfriend for £7.99 each off ebay! I have emailed with text and a picture to put on them so they will make a really nice present.

Just 5 more to buy now...

This months budget is looking OK. Cancelled the drinks tonight which will save me some and I feel better about that.

I'm going to call both my loan holders and request statements this morning so I can make sure what I have in my budget now is 100% correct.

Have written a cheque to overpay £80 on my credit card so need to take that to the bank later on a lunchtime walk and I'll pay in the bags of change that have been sat under my desk for weeks! Only about £6 but still...

After receiving a message last night it prompted me to check if I had closed my Barclaycard account. I had it years ago on a 0% deal and paid it all off but from calling them it seems I never closed it. So I cant apply for a new one but I do have a 0% deal available on that available till May, so only 7 months and a 2.9% fee. But she said in December some new deals will come out so I wonder if it's worth me waiting until then as maybe I can get a longer 0% deal and transfer the whole Halifax c card balance over.... I have a 6.5k limit on the card so it will easily cover the balance and definitley work out better interest wise.
