Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
I am very happy (and very tired) because I got my e-cig case (handmade) I ordered from the states 5 weeks ago (2 week backlog on shipping and 3 weeks in the mail)....

Wasn't cheap but so worth it. Proper hide :) Should last longer than last one (6 months but saved my e-cig - all metal - in the summer). Now I want one with flowers on LOL

    Well pleased....2uge4p4.gif

  • Hi guys

Belated Merry Christmas!!! Hope you all had a good break :)

Ours was lovely, nice and chilled in the Midlands with my bf and parents, and for once I didn't over spend. I updated my spreadsheet today and it's all looking good! I did the balance transfer over to tesco, zero fee and zero interest. So I have a payment each month set up for £185 to pay it off in the interest free period more than likely before!

Work is going really well, my team are great. I'm enjoying the challenge of making decisions and managing and think I'm doing well so far!

Running..... Feeling really meh as I really dropped off the last two weeks, struggling to motivate, get out in the cold, fit in around work. Etc etc. not good enough. Pom going to make a plan for next week, food, running, riding and stick to that and I should be back in the flow.

Hello! I used to read your diary then fell of MSE all together. I'm coming back with a bang in 2015 though and just read your last few pages.

You are running too? Are you building up to anything? I started running properly in September and have joined a female only 10 miles race on 1st March then a half marathon on 12th April, to say I am scared is an understatement!! I haven't done any more than 6 miles yet but got my training plan all sorted for the new year. Running is so hard!

Anyways, hope you don't mind me popping in. You might see me popping up on a few challenges as I really need to get my spending in gear.

    Thank you! x
  • You're totally right BrightSpark, its so hard to give yourself that kick up the bum!!!

Welcome back Shezam! Your running plan sounds great, I have a 10k and a half marathon also in the new year as part of my training for the London marathon at the end of April, its only 16 weeks away now and I really need to get back on it. So far I am up to 7 miles, its time to increase that mileage!

I also really need to get cracking on the charity fundraising. So far I have raised £250ish of my £2000 target..... not good!!!

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!!!!

Hope you had a fabulous turn of the year. The bf and I had a relaxed one at home then walked to Primrose Hill to watch the London fireworks from afar, they were fabulous!

    Well, news, what to tell!!

Work.... the new job is going very well I am enjoying it A LOT! It's busy, challenging and interesting. My team are nice, the people over the rest of the office are great and the directors I am working for are also great. Done some long hours recently but once I have finished the handover and my predecessor leaves it should calm down a bit.

Money... Going well, within budget. The only unexpected costs are related to physio and running which I'll come to. So I need to figure out how to get back on track.

Running.... as I mentioned before I had a bit of a break from running over xmas. Last week I got my trainers on, before I'd even hit half a mile my right foot had horrible pain on the bottom along the arch of my foot.

I saw a physio last night and my Plantar Fasitia (no idea if that spelling is right) is the source of pain. Caused by a few things..... My hips and knees are hyper-flexible but the muscles from waist down aren't strong enough to control the movement so when I run it's all wrong. The trainers I have aren't supportive enough to help the situation. Also, when I broke my big toe a few years ago I have lost almost all of the movement in the joint between that toe and my foot when there is pressure on the foot ie the ground.

So. I have lots of exercises to do to strengthen it all up and I will have to invest in trainers and more physio and see how it goes. Realistically, if I am not happy with it by the end of the month I need to consider deferring my marathon place to 2016 which will be completely gutting but sensible in the long run, I do not want to cause long-term damage.

The bf is great, there were conversations recently about living together at some point which we both want to do. But with him in the army and potentially looking to leave he really needs to make that decision first as his living costs in barracks are peanuts so makes no sense for him to rent etc if he doesn't have to. I will have to be patient!

    I think that's all!

    Catch up soon

Bad news about the marathon, but delaying is not the end of the world - my friend had to do that for much the same reason - it allows a much longer and more gradual training season (ie all year not just 5 winter months)

    Everything else looks peachy

  • Morning Mark,

You're right, I went to the gym this morning to meet my friend and do my physio exercises and she is also thinking of deferring to next year due to ankle problems. So that is steering me very much in that direction.

I have queried with the charity if they're happy for me to do this.
