Lovecrafting, a budget is a good idea. It is hard to refuse children when they ask for something. I know what I am like with my grandchilldren. If you set yourself a budget for each week, then when the money is coming to and do not be tempted to withdraw more money, try to struggle on a bit. Actually, I am the last person to give advice on this because I am awful but I too have to start budgetting. I will give it a go if you will!
We are the same - its the economy we're all in - budgeting is a must ! I think thats why this thread is so great - last xmas I must of spent at least £1000 - my boys, neices and nephews and then the adults ! This year thanks to tesco £200 !
My grocery bill is the worst but I get things on sale like others have said and stock up ! Then the main staples meat / bread / milk etc don't break the bank ! And Tesco clubcard is great and the till spits ! I'd never shopped at Tesco until the Asda DTD started back last year!
Good Luck with your budgeting and share your tips !0 -

Thank you. We will get there in the end! I have finished my Christmas shopping. I've been buying it in bits and pieces since January. I have 8 little ones to buy for and one on the way (not mine!) and I have had loads of bargains from on here.
Good luck to you too. x0 -
HappyChappy I am writing with a stinking headache just for you
If you were my son I'd put you over my knee!!!!
What do you mean you don't like doctors???!!
I'll not take it personally, perhaps if you went more often you may realize they are not all old men wearing cardis and sandals
Oh by the way you can get no 2 onthe list without poking anything in your ear , as lala said even water from a shower can cause it
So what do you think?
Edit by the way you can clean your ears without sticking anything in , olive oil softens the wax and it should just fall out -you can get it in little ear dropper type things at the chemistGRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED
Please press the thanks button when someone has helped!0 -
Lol - it did move ! And my son kept pulling me ! Grabbed the knife set quickly and put one leg on bottom shelf ! To make matters worse I was caught by a fellow shopper and the young fellow that had taken down the chuggington set 2 aisles up - I just had to laugh !
I'm 6' 4" and I'm constantly getting asked by people, especially little old ladies, to get things down from the top shelves.0 -

Shhhh sneaking back on here for a minute. When the ex and I went shopping, the bill was easily 3 figures yet there never seemed to be anything to eat. Xmas cost a ruddy fortune and we never had any money spare (well I didn't but that's a whole other story). I got bored one day when the boys were napping and had a look on the grabbit and found the DTD thread. I tested the dishwasher tablets and couldn't believe what happened! Since then I have been a avid reader of this forum.
Previous posts will show how I've managed to stockpile pretty much everything I'll need bar fresh food (milk, cheese, meat, bread, veg etc). The glitches have been very kind to me but it does take brass ones to pull it off. I lost track of how many times I went in in one day to get the jelly & custard but you know what, I'll do whatever it takes for my kids. My only vice is the odd glass of wine which I have stockpiled at very little cost thanks to JTD. My kids will love Xmas thanks to Mothercare (price promise), Asda (reductions from the character event) & Tesco for all the wee bargains and DTDs. I have pressies sorted for everyone including my parents dog and all for a fraction of what I used to spend, even allowing for the fact I no longer have a DH or step-child to buy for.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. Don't be embarassed shopping for whoopsies. If you see an opportunity, grab it while you have the chance. If I can go from barely blinking an eye at a £100+ grocery bill with very little groceries to having trouble spending more than £10 in Ts then there's hope for everyone.0
