Thanks, i think i do need to shop arround and as you say stock up on basics. we are so used to just shopping for what we want when we want it, now we are feeling the pinch and really need to sort it out the problem is, i havent really had to budget before, i have done it because i want to but never because i need to, now that i need to. silly things that we usually buy are off limits and its really hard. for example, my daughter (8) told me half an hr ago that she wants a sweetie. DH just handed over a couple of quid and sent her to the shop for sweeties (the shop is only downstairs, were in a maisonette above a shop) she didnt really need a sweetie, she would have been fine with an apple or some toast but its just another example of how rubbish we are at managing money, with baby number four on the way, me signed off work until the baby is born and DH not working (he is a stay at home dad but is going to have to go back we think) things need to change, and sharpish.

i think the moment came when we came out of the supermarket over £120 lighter and there was hardly any food in there the realisation really set in. time to sort out a budget i think
  • if i go to them wont they just think i am trying it on and want a free pack of batteries? and will they notice that on the savings bit it says dcell aa/aaa 4/8pk b2gcf -7.47 so i wasnt actually charged for the second pack anyway?

there not amazing no, there overpriced rubbish but they last a wile and the cheap ones are no good. to be honest today is the first time in a long time i have checked any prices, usually i wonder round the shop in sort of a..ohh yeah we need chrisps, ohh we need loo roll and just put it in the trolley. its really hit us the last few weeks what we are really spending in supermarkets and to be honest its really frightening.

omg why did i just post a huge post when one line would have done, sorry im all panicking because of spending and confused over how i can reduce it.

    Ps
Becki do you want to PM re the towels?

Also happy I second nursy's advice

    My differential diagnosis would be
    1.wax
    2. Otitis externa -eczema of the canal due to poking cotton buds in your ear causes Pain and deafness, discharge and secondary infections
3 ear infection -unlikely if no fever or severe pain
    4. Fluid behind ear if you've had a recent cold resolves on its own

My bet is on one or two -prob two,
All 4 conditions need someone to look in your ear so stop self treating and get down to your gp you plank!!

    1. Most likely
    2. Unlikely since there's been nothing in my ears since 1990 something. lol
    3. No fever or pain
    4. Dunno?
    5. I'm not going anywhere near a doctors as I don't like them.:(

I'll persevere with the ear drops.

Sis tells me your supposed to clean your ears out regularly but how do you do this if you can't put anything in them?

Lovecrafting, a budget is a good idea. It is hard to refuse children when they ask for something. I know what I am like with my grandchilldren. If you set yourself a budget for each week, then when the money is coming to and do not be tempted to withdraw more money, try to struggle on a bit. Actually, I am the last person to give advice on this because I am awful but I too have to start budgetting. I will give it a go if you will!

Now Happychappy I am going to frighten you into going to the doctors. That's what I get ,no2 from Celebrates list and I have ended up in hospital a few times with it when I've left it and one side of my face has swelled up:( Mine comes on if I'm stressed or if I get water in my ear and that stuff that clears your ears that you put in would make mine even worse. I've had "stent" things put in my ear before and had to have them changed at the hospital and it's 'orrible. So get your bottom to the doctors;) and don't mess with earache;) Tomorrow!
Hope that did'nt come across to harsh, just my motherly instinct coming out, my tactic is always to scare my DS into going to the doc's otherwise he won't go:p

    Still not going. :(

HappyChappy get yourself to the drs! I had an ear infection recently and was horrible but easily sorted with antibiotics :) Hope you feel better soon! Btw my son has Aspergers so nice to meet someone else with it. If that makes sense?

    Celebrate I have PM'd you.

I really do not like doctors. I haven't been to one in, well, quite some years, I just suffer when I'm ill and let it pass.

I tell a lie, I was forced in to hospital at the end of 2006 where I spent a week in my own little sealed room in the Infectious Diseases Unit or something or other, an experience I want to forget.
