Funny isnt it you always remember something that your mum made that was nice and I think he'll always remember my chicken soup with crusty bread:) I always remember my mums lamb stew with dumplings.

I always think of mums lobby!

I don't know if it is a national dish but it certainly is common round here!

She used to use neck of lamb, celery, potatoes n carrots as the base and then whatever was at hand got lobbed in too!

    Mmmmmmm.

My kids will remember my fish pie, cottage pie n trifles! They are the dishes that they will ask for given the choice. They also adore my sunday roasts n legendary yorkshires (i make em in a tin and everyone gets a whopping slab!)

Sunday roasts in our house are the most requested dinner, we have to have yorkshires and stuffing with every single roast! and the stuffing has to be made from proper sausages, tried to con them before with normal sausagemeat and they always suss me out;) Never heard of lobby before but sounds right up my street:T
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:
  • My eldest when asked what would he like for his birthday tea requested - chicken dinner, yorkies and brocolli! Gotta love that a 9yr old chooses veg over junk :T:T

I'd love to make lobby but not sure how????

I never used to like veg but I love it now. I'm the only one in our family that likes brussel sprouts, broccoli, green beans and cauliflower.

The only veg I don't like is butternut squash, aubergine, pumpkin and carrots.

Just thought I would pop my head in and say hi  No Mr T today. Going to try and NOT visit one today. Getting a bit addictive to all this bargain hunting. Funny even my DH is joining in with me. I never thought I would see the day that my hubby was actually taking things to the scanner.
Anyway got xmas pretty much sorted thanks to everyone on here:santa2::snow_laug saved lots of money as we are on a tight budget like everyone else it seems lol.

Have been making homemade soup over the last few weeks. Its so yummy and a lot cheaper than buying tins. My favorite so far has to be the leek and potato yum yum.

Sausage, mash, carrots and Yorkshires tonight, proper comfort food now the nights are drawing in.
